What's bugging you? (2016)

LouisEly
A friend of mine is a professor at Ball State University. Today, he walked into a bathroom and found a student, texting and using the urinal at the same time.

I'm not sure it's, "bugging me", but I didn't know where else to post this.

I have witnessed that myself, in a high school bathroom, more than once...

I've seen it so often that I'm not even weirded out by it anymore. Note that I'm not saying that I don't think it's weird; it's just that I've become immune. It sure seems like an invitation to a wet hand or wet clothing.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

ESPN hogs all of the bowl games - they don't even share many with ABC.

As a network television connoisseur, this bugs me. I understand their subscriber fee is about $7 / month per household. Why can't they just charge me $7 / month direct to stream their programming? Or better yet, figure out how to charge me ala cart for the programming that I actually want to watch. I'm off the week between Christmas and New Year's Day and would gladly pay $5 - $10 to watch a minor bowl game (more for the CFP). I can get along just fine without ESPN (I have been for 30 + years), but it seems like they're missing a great opportunity to sell me their content.

I thought they did stream some bowl games for free. Or maybe at one time they did. I remember having a bowl game on in the background on my work computer a couple years ago.

Whoa... how many hands do you need to urinate? Or do you mean a double handed texter? :tongue

I still think taking a phone call in the toilet is worse. And I've heard that at work (with adults), not at schools

Key broke off in my ignition last night while I was parked at the Pick N Save parking lot. Thankfully my mom's boyfriend was able to get it out since I couldn't. But he had to drive from Brookfield to Tosa to look at it. I was stuck there for about 90 minutes. I sat inside to keep warm as they blared Christmas music over the PA. It was brutal.

I really don't understand the love and loyalty that Elon Musk gets.

I was reading up on him a couple of months ago. He seems like he's doing some things that could provide for the betterment of humanity and the earth but I feel like he's just a step away from becoming a real life bond villain. Not to turn this into politics but, he throws gobs of money at whichever politician will support his projects regardless of party. Basically he's a rich genius who knows how to game the system and can buy anyone he wants. That's dangerous.

I understand that but he's not just some rich guy looking to get richer for the sake of getting richer. The things he's trying to do are very altruistic but I don't trust him. And not like some industrialist who says his business will bring jobs and help the economy all the while destroying the environment and taking government handouts but like a guy who says he's trying to save the planet but winds up enslaving all of mankind or something like that. The times I've heard him talk his sounds borderline insane and he gives off a weird creepy vibe. I just don't trust him.

The texting and peeing thing doesn't get me. What gets me is when guys approach a urinal, undo their belt and button, unzip, and pee with their frontside mostly exposed. I've seen it quite a bit lately and don't get why the belt and button have to be undone for peeing to occur

Ohhh, you mean he is secretly creating our robot overlords.

I get that vibe from him as well. Won't be robot overlords though, I think he's very wary of advanced AI. Although it didn't stop his driverless car.

For the third straight year, I've come out of our Christmas trip to Kenosha with an upper respiratory piece of crap. :angry

Lots of colds going around lately. I just came down with something today. I hate winter.

I highly recommend taking a vitamin D3 supplement during the winter.

Vitamin D3 is the specific vitamin that is produced by your body from exposure to sunlight, and facilitates normal immune system function. During the winter when you are inside all the time, your vitamin D3 levels drop which can compromise your immune system function. Think about it - why do people usually get sick in the winter and rarely in the summer? Vitamin D3 levels likely play a role.

I started taking a D3 supplement about 10 years ago (along with a powdered green food supplement), and I have been sick exactly once in the last 10 years. And over half of that time I have either been in and out of medical clinics/doctors offices all day long (job) or in school full-time (MBA), so I've been exposed to plenty of viruses.
