Continuing with the original October post above, we learn that former Brewers AAA farmhand Pete Orr has been added to the pro scouting staff (tweet), and former big league Brewer Jeff Bianchi is now listed in the pro scouting section of the Brewers' site front office roster listing.

No longer listed as pro scouts are Joe Kowal, and also Gary Robinson, a veteran scout brought on board last winter from the defunct MLB Scouting Bureau.

On the amateur side of things, newcomer Jeff Carter is listed as a new area scout, and it turns out he'll be handling the Northeast corridor (Facebook update here).

No longer listed are 2016 newcomer Michael Rouse -- the former Athletics and Indians big league infielder, who had the critical Southern Cal area for the past year, and John Shelby III, who had covered Central and North Florida since winter 2014. Shelby is the son of former Brewers coach John Shelby.

Diverse yet familiar crew they are putting together -- a generational hire in Pete Vuckovich, Jr.

LinkedIn provides some career background.

First, if you're arriving via my Twitter link today, just take a moment to review the earlier updates on this topic, posted just above in this thread.

On the amateur side of things, no longer listed are 2016 newcomer Michael Rouse -- the former Athletics and Indians big league infielder, who had the critical Southern Cal area for the past year, and John Shelby III, who had covered Central Florida since winter 2014. Shelby is the son of former Brewers coach John Shelby.

The Brewers have filled these two Area Scouting positions.

Wynn Pelzer, the former Padre and Oriole farmhand who had been formally listed as a Junior Scout on their organizational roster, is now listed as the Southern California scout.

New to the organization, Mike Burns replaces Shelby in Central Florida. Burns had been a scout for the Blue Jays for the past five years.

Here are some additional updates on the amateur scouting front:

Congrats to Dan Nellum, former mid-Atlantic area scout, he gets promoted and is now one of five Regional Supervisors.

New to the position, but not the organization, James Fisher takes over the mid-Atlantic role. His LinkedIn profile shows past ties to the Brewers, Baseball Prospectus, and the now-defunct MLB Scouting Bureau's "Scout School". Fisher retired from Twitter with this cool tweet.

Another former "Junior Scout", Taylor Frederick, has been promoted to Area Scout in a newly aligned region for both North and South Carolina.

Finally from the amateur scouting front, newcomer Craig Smajstrla, henceforth known as "Consonants :)", takes the reigns of the Southern Texas and Southwestern Louisiana area, where Brian Sankey had previously been promoted to Regional Supervisor. Smajstrla had also been associated with the MLB Scouting Bureau, and was featured in the nice "The Greatest 21 Days" series.

For the pro scouting side of things, the Brewers newly published organizational chart confirms the previously mentioned additions of Jeff Bianchi, Pete Orr, and Pete Vuckovich, Jr., and former #1 overall draft pick (2002) Brian Bullington is also now on board, with Bullington's focus to be overseas pro scouting, as Adam McCalvy had referred to last year. Bullington pitched from 2011-2015 in Japan. The latest new name is Paul Mirocke, a scout with 16 years of experience, including several with the Scouting Bureau.

Here's that link to the updated Brewers organizational chart.
