First time I've looked at Aaron Hills stats since the trade. He's been horrible.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

When I turned on the game, TBS took a quick peek at the goings-on at the ballpark while the studio pundits were babbling. I guess I'd rather see the on-the-field pregame stuff than listen to the babbling.

Tough to argue we sold low on Estrada when his performance took such an unpredictable jump after being traded, to the tougher league no less. Granted his 2012 was pretty solid but in the two years immediately prior to the trade he was trending down with 2014 being especially brutal, MLB worst 29 HR in only 150 IP.

2013-14 w/ MKE: 4.13 ERA (88th of 111, min 250 IP) 4.41 FIP (101st of 111)

2015-16 w/ TOR: 3.50 ERA (19th of 98, min 250 IP) 4.28 FIP (72nd of 98)

His batted ball profile has stayed mostly the same with the only noticeable difference being about a 6% reduction in hard contact since the trade to TOR. It also looks like he added (or at the very least increased his usage of) a cutter since he got to TOR. If anything I think the TOR front office/coaching staff should get credit for identifying someone whose issues they thought were fixable & then fixing them.

Not like the deal looked bad in 2015. Estrada did well for Toronto and Lind was doing well/ as expected in his role for the Brewers.

Time will tell if any of the 3 lottery tickets Lind was dealt for before 2016 turn into anything (by themselves or as part of another deal).

Tribe takes game 1 and the maligned catching situation is a huge reason why.

Perez showed himself to be a solid backstop.

Who would have guessed that before the series began???

Kluber aka Klubot vs Price in game 2 should be a good match up. Rematch of opening day except this time Tribe has Guyer (very underrated pickup) to be in RF. IF Tribe wins game 2 to go up 2-0 before heading to Boston, I wonder how on edge that Boston fan base will be...

Would be difficult for the announcers in the Boston/Cleveland series to be more annoying. Ortiz is the greatest thing g since sliced bread. Pedroia is the grittiest battler in the history of gritty battlers. The supposedly awful swinging strike call to end the game and "hating to see the game end like that." One of them even refusing to change that stance even after replay showed Pedroia clearly swung seemingly because there was no way Pedroia would throw a hissy fit the way he did if he didn't actually swing.

Yeah that really got under my skin too. After the replay Ripken took it back and was like "he definitely went around, strike 3" but either Darling or Johnson refused to admit it. "Hate to see a game end like that." Come on! What? There were other points in the game where they refused to accept what could be seen on replay too. So weird

In Progressive Field, it's possible to homer off of plexiglass that's placed to protect the cameraman.
