Phil Coyne - Pirates usher for 80 years

Pretty amazing. Been an usher since 1936 just missing to serve in WW2. Now 98 and still says he'll be back working next season if healthy.

Interesting that in his 80 years with the team, they won 3 championships in a 20 year period (60-79) and none the other 60.

For perspective, when Lou Gehrig gave his famous Luckiest Man speech, Coyne was in his 4th year as an usher for the Pirates.

I met and got my picture taken with Phil at a Nationals-Pirates game at PNC back in 2009. The Pirates ushers were some of the nicest people I've met, and when my buddy and I explained we were on a baseball road trip visiting several parks they introduced us to Phil. I was in awe of his age then, great to see he is still at it 7 years later!
