Cardinals don't make the playoffs

This doesn't really need a thread. But I wanted to share my joy at the Cardinals missing the playoffs.

My season goals go like this:

1. Brewers win

2. Cardinals lose

3. Cubs lose

After that, it's kind of fluid, but the Cardinals losing was a big deal since I knew we weren't going to do well.

This pleases me.

this is great. I look forward to watching the cubs lose in game 7 of the world series, and then waiting another 100 years to make it there again

If they don't win this year that fanbase is going to go ape spit.

I don't hate the Cubs the way I did when it was Ryan The Riot and D-Lee and Ryan Dumpster and (especially) Carlos Zambrano. I'm pretty 'meh' about them now. It's more I wish they weren't so good, as they're in our division. I don't care what they do once they're in the playoffs.

I still (and always will) hate the Cardinals with the fiery heat of 1000 burning suns.

Signing Chapman didn't help their cause in my eyes. I will never be a fan but at least without him I could say they were a decent bunch of dudes on the team.

I've hated the Cubs since the Braves days. In fact I believe to this day it was Cubs ownership behind the scenes that orchestrated the Braves departure to Atlanta in large part to recapture the Milwaukee market they lost when Braves arrived. In the case of the Cardinals, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" only applies when they are playing the Cubs.

We had K-Rod for like 4 years so...

I'm just glad it is an even year so we know the Giants will win it all somehow even though they are probably the worst team in the playoff field~.

I'm also really happy the Royals and Pirates tanked, both teams I don't like at all.

My favorite team is the Brewers.

My second favorite is whomever is playing the Cubs.

My third favorite is whomever is playing the Cardinals.

The last two can swap at times... ;) (same applies for Packers, Vikings and Bears in that order).

The Tony La Russa led Cardinals was the worst. I was actually a Cardinal fan of the Ozzie Smith era, but I became a baseball fan after the 1982 WS, too. I have a harder time hating Mike Matheny due to former Brewer ties.

Having worked in Chicagoland, my Cubs-hate comes from working with the fans... they were pretty obnoxious.

My "like" for Matheny being an ex-Brewer was quickly over-ridden by him quickly buying into that "Cardinal Way" nonsense.

Living in Chicago, I hate the Cubs significantly more than the Cardinals. I would have taken the Cards in the playoffs this year if it meant the Cubs didn't make it 8 days a week. My sole baseball priority right now is rooting for the Cubs to lose as early as possible. Anything after that is gravy.

No, you missed the point.

I don't like the Cubs. My point was that I could at least say that even though I don't like them they seem to be a team full of good guys. Then they signed Chapman and I can't even say that about them.

Fair. I generally don't care about the morals of my sports heroes..... but fair.

i love the cardinals are denied any postseason revenue.

Manfred will probably deem this punishment enough for the hacking scandal, and move on.

Honestly, I'm shocked there wasn't a 3rd wildcard team added when the league realized the Cardinals hadn't made the post-season.
