Australia Box Score - 21-year-old CF Malik Collymore (.887 OPS through seven games) reached base twice, 1-for-3 with a walk. Second baseman Tucker Neuhaus was 0-for-4 in this one, a 4-1 Sydney loss.

***

Puerto Rico Box Score - Both players batted 9th. SS Yadiel Rivera was 1-for-4, triple, K, while opposing CF Omar Garcia was 0-for-4, two K's. Garcia's squad won, 7-1.

***

Venezuela Box Score - 3B Hernan Perez, batting 7th despite his hot start, was 1-for-3, run, RBI on a sacrifice fly. And yes, thanks to the sacrifice fly (and no walks on the winter season), Perez' OBP is actually lower than his batting average (.338 vs. 344).

***

Translated tweet from a Venezuelan broadcaster -- According to sources close to the team, Orlando Arcia has not seen action for stomach problems.

Arcia last played on Sunday the 20th.

Saturday's action --

Venezuela Box Score - Shortstop Gabriel Noriega is up to 133 winter at-bats (.301/.326/.414 - .740 OPS), he was 2-for-4 (triple, run scored) in a 3-2 loss here. Old friend Sean Halton joined him as a teammate Saturday.

***

Venezuela Box Score - "Walk watch" continues for Hernan Perez, 0-for-4, one K in this game, a 3-2 loss. Still batting .324 after 68 AB's. Perez has only played infield positions this winter.

***

Puerto Rico Box Score- OF Omar Garcia didn't enter his team's 7-5 win until the 4th inning, but made the most of things, going 2-for-3 (R, RBI, K). All nine hits this winter have been singles, not surprising since only two of his 37 base hits in the 2016 regular season were for extra bases (double, triple).

***

Australian Box Score - Just your run-of-the-mill 21-11 game, our Brewer boys on the losing end. CF Malik Collymore doubled once in six at-bats, driving in two, striking out three times. Second baseman Tucker Neuhaus was 2-for-6 with three runs scored.

Former Brewer note -- RHP Manny Barreda, who spent 2014 and 2015 mostly at the AA level in Huntsville and Biloxi, respectively, tossed a Mexican League no-hitter Saturday (box score).

Barreda twirls no-hitter

Former Yankees, Brewers prospect fans nine in 138-pitch gem

By Michael Avallone / MiLB.com

While with the Crew, Barreda was represented by agent39 (Josh Kusnick), will have to ask Josh if he is still with him. Barreda pitched in the Mexican Summer League in 2016, unaffiliated.

The best news of the offseason thus far for the Brewers may be the winter performance in his native Puerto Rico of RHP Jorge Lopez.

On Monday, Lopez tossed five scoreless innings, allowed just two hits, walking none and fanning five. He faced just one over the minimum.

In five starts, Lopez has allowed just nine hits in 23.2 innings (.115 batting average against), walking eight and striking out 20. He has not allowed a home run. Lopez turns 24 in February. It will be fascinating to watch his placement when Opening Day arrives.

Lopez' teammate Yadiel Rivera, playing third base, was 0-for-3 in the game, a 4-1 win.

Via Google Translate:

Anzoátegui Caribes manager Omar López reported that he is in talks with the Milwaukee Brewers to extend Orlando Arcia's permit to the Eastern team.

The shortstop has permission from his organization until December 15, but "The Tribe" hopes to do what is necessary to have the big leaguer for a longer time.

Arcia has been a key player in the roster of those led by Omar López, who are in the fifth place in the ranking of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League.

In the current season Arcia is batting .234, with seven runs scored and nine RBI in 12 games.

Thursday's games --

Australia box: Sydney was shut out 2-0, but Malik Collymore (1-for-4, three K's) and Tucker Neuhaus (1-for-4, double) managed to avoid oh-fers.

This happened, though --

Sydney Bottom of the 1st

Trent D'Antonio called out on strikes.

Malik Collymore singles on a line drive to left fielder Connor MacDonald.

With Joshua Dean batting, Justin Erasmus picks off Malik Collymore at 1st on throw to Donald Lutz.

***

Puerto Rico box:

In a 2-1 win, Martin Maldonado was 1-for-3, run scored, and threw out the lone attempting basestealer. SS Yadiel Rivera was 0-for-2 with a sacrifice bunt.

***

Venezuela box: SS Orlando Arcia 1-for-4 (one K). Arcia's team lost 6-2 to Manny Pina's squad, and Pina reached base three times, 2-for-3, double, walk, K. Pina has an .842 OPS through 24 winter games, nice.

***

Venezuela box: Infielder Javier Betancourt grounded out in his lone at-bat as he continues to see limited action; SS Gabriel Noriega's slow spell continues (0-for-4, three K's, error).

***

Venezuela box: Hernan Perez, playing third base and leading off (!), was 2-for-4 with a triple, sacrifice bunt and run scored. Perez' line is a shiny .357/.373/.520 (.893 OPS).

Saturday --

Venezuela box: Hernan Perez, leading off and at third base, 3-for-4, two R, caught stealing for first time in three attempts; Perez is just a few at-bats of qualifying for a batting title lead, but he would be ahead at .371.

***

Venezuela box: SS Orlando Arcia was 1-for-4 with an HBP, one R, two RBI, one K

***

Australia box: CF Malik Collymore on base three times (2-for-4, walk), second baseman Tucker Neuhaus 1-for-4.

Through 16 games, Collymore has an incredible statistical achievement. His .987 OPS ranks 6th in the league, but that's not the incredible part.

Collymore's OPS in 192 dreadful Brevard County at-bats was .435 (not a misprint). Thus, the 21-year-old has increased his OPS by .552, demonstrating not only how hot he's been Down Under, but how misplaced the youngster was for his age 21 season in the Florida State League. The 2016 Manatees will go down in Brewers lore as one that saw circumstances, experience gap, etc., totally sacrifice the team and expose it to the wolves.

The starting pitcher for Brisbane was Daniel Nilsson - without doing any research on it and going by the photo, would hazard a guess that that is Dave's kid.

Infielder Mitch Nilsson played in Saturday's game (OPS .930).

It appears that both are Dave's nephews and currently playing for their uncle. Dave's son Jacob Nilsson is also listed on the Brisbane roster, although he's only had one at bat (Jacob is just 18 years old).

Not just “at Night” anymore.
