I'll file a report on Helena by early morning.

 

Initial report on Monday showed that there would be a doubleheader this week to make up for Monday's rainout in Billings, but as of now, it appears it's just one game each of the next three nights. Neither team is in contention, so Monday's game was indeed cancelled.

Brewers Score Seven Unanswered, Win 8-6

Helena Brewers

 

HELENA, MT - The Helena Brewers scored seven unanswered runs on Tuesday night at Kindrick Legion Field, defeating the Billings Mustangs 8-6 to kick off the final three game homestand of the season.

 

Trailing 6-1 after four innings, the comeback started in the bottom of the fifth when Caleb Whalen led off with his first career home run, a line drive to left center. Whalen delivered again in the sixth, driving in a pair with a two out single to bring the Brewers within two at 6-4.

 

Helena would keep the pressure on in the seventh, scoring four runs on three hits and a costly Billings error. Trever Morrison scored on a failed pickoff attempt at third to make it 6-5, and Gilbert Lara delivered the game winning hit, a two run double down the line in right. Lara scored on a Cooper Hummel base hit and the bullpen made it stand up from there.

 

Cameron Roegner worked around a one out single in the eighth and Colton Cross earned his 10th save of the season in the ninth. Roegner improved to 2-3 with two scoreless innings of one-hit relief.

 

Wuilder Rodriguez allowed one unearned run in his final appearance of the year, striking out four in 3.2 innings in relief of Rodrigo Benoit.

 

The Brewers will look to make it three in a row on Wednesday night with Aaron Myers getting the start. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 (8:05 Central).
