Tips for parking around Lambeau Field

LouisEly
Didn't put this on LL.net because of relatively low traffic over there, but I'm going to UW-LSU tomorrow and it has been a long time since I've been to Lambeau. Tips on best bets for parking (would gladly spend an extra $5-10 to not be way out in the boonies), what exit(s) to take, etc., would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There are TONS of places to park around there. All the local business will sell spots, all the houses sell spots in their yard, or if you get there early enough, there is street parking on most roads in the neighborhoods around Lambeau - all of these spots are within about a 1/2 mile of the stadium.

Typically most places will charge somewhere in the $20 range. Might be able to find cheaper, but you'd be walking quite a ways.

As far as exits goes, they are all pretty clearly marked, but just about any of them will do. If there's a lot of traffic, you can go past the first exit (which I think is Lombardi??) and take the next one, which allows you to come in from behind the stadium. Tip for driving home if you're heading south...take I-43. It takes a bit to get over there, but there's usually quite a bit less traffic.

Related...anyone have any extra seats they want to sell me? :)

The best place kind of depends on which way you are coming from. Since I live east I usually park on the northeast corner of the stadium in one of the backyards near the funeral home or in the funeral home lot if I'm early enough. I don't take Lombardi ave because then you have to deal with all the traffic. I come in by Notre Dame High School and leave that way to get back on 41. So much faster than taking Lombardi because you don't have as much foot traffic and other cars to wait for.

Kind of wish I hadn't sold my tickets, but I was able to pay a good portion of my Packers season tickets off with the proceeds.

If you're coming up I43 take 172 West, get off on the Oneida Street exit (1st exit over the river), when get to down to Pilgrim Street at the bottom of the ramp take a right towards Ashland, and then take Ashland north (left) to either Potts or Lombardi ave, you'll be 3 industrial blocks east of the stadium but you should be able to find parking heading west towards the stadium.

I haven't been down by the stadium today but rumor has it LSU fans are already in town and claiming parking spots around the stadium.

Ashland to 172 will be quickest way out as well.

Coming up I41 you'll have 4 exits to choose from: The Oneida St/Waube Ln exit heading north with take to the east side of Lambeau field, you could still take 172 east and do the Ashland thing, the Lombardi Ave exit takes you to right to the stadium approaching from the West, and the Mason Street exit will put you north of the stadium in a residential area when you get far east to take Oneida St back south.

As mentioned most of the houses north and south of the stadium will park, as do most businesses near the stadium, the Packers told me yesterday that the grass lots south of the stadium will be open to the public first come first serve.

Funny you mention Ashland to Potts as that is what someone else told me. To avoid traffic I was told 57/32 and follow 32 across the bridge to Ashland and then Ashland to Potts.

They said the same thing about Nebraska fans four years ago, how there were supposed to be 30K there, yada yada. Then Nebraska fans found out that Badgers fans weren't selling their tickets.

32 is Ashland in GB, on I41 north that's the exit between Main St De Pere and Oneida/Waube. I wouldn't go through all of the small towns on 32/57, but that's your call. If you come up that way it would be correct to stay on 32 when that becomes Main Street in De Pere and heads west across the river.

LSU is here in full force, I'm not at liberty to divulge what I found out later this afternoon after my original post, but it's safe to say that they've dumped a significant amount of money into the community in just a few days.

Parking for this game is going to be tougher than it is for a typical Packers game. Lots that are typically open will be used for special events. Also expect a couple of street closures.

The game is sold out and parking prices at residences nearest the stadium are rising, some in the $80 to $120 range. Parking around Lambeau Field for Packers games normally is in the $15 to $40 range, with most being $15 to $25.

I wouldn't overthink this. Park when you see something semi-attractive, and walk from there. Worry about how you're going to leave when it's time to go.

Last year, we tried to beat traffic after a Packer's game, and it just wasn't worth it. We ended up taking a long circuitous route around town. We'd have been better off going with the crowd.

Do familiarize yourself with your options ahead of time, though. Cellular and data availability might be spotty due to the large number of people. When we wanted to fire up Maps after the game, we had trouble making connections on both AT&T and Verizon.

I prefer parking on Holmgren Way (I love just outside of De Pere on the East side) in the Ashwaubenon Public Safety lots. Usually $10 and they let you use their indoor restrooms which comes in very handy for late season Packer games. You're only 2 blocks from the scene at The Bar so maybe about 4 blocks away from Lambeau.

I just want to say how impressed I was with the LSU fans.

We had a premier tailgating spot and had at least 30 LSU fans stop by before the game, and then we tailgated after the game with some LSU fans as well. Not only were they extremely complimentary of WI hospitality, they were incredibly gracious in defeat. I've been to ton of football, basketball, and baseball games at various venues and this was far and away the best opposing fan experience I've ever had. What wonderful people.

If any of them read this board I hope they enjoyed WI as much as we enjoyed hosting them.

Heard that 41 was bumper to bumper all the way to Appleton after the game. I took 32 down to 10 and then 10 over to Appleton - was driving 60-63 mph the whole way (where it was 55). That's a nice way to go with no traffic at all. Part of Ashland/8th St. is closed due to construction.

Parked on Potts at a business just west of Ashland (could have parked 5 blocks east of there off Potts in residential neighborhood for free, but for $20 I got a bit closer and was able to use the business's restroom).

Supposedly the Titletown construction has eliminated quite a few parking spots (heard a couple thousand), so that could have increased the demand for other spots near the stadium and subsequently the price.

Oh yeah, LSU fans >>> Alabama fans. Way less cockiness/douchbaggery than the Alabama fans that were in Dallas last year. And none of those silly mini-pom-poms that the Alabama fans like to bring with them (and graze your hair with in the stands).
