Well I don't think I've ever seen rain at a game at Miller Park with the roof open

The Brewers got caught with the roof open during a surprise pregame shower once a few years ago. Our loge seats, pretty near the center, were among the targets.

Nice night for Hernan so far. Still wishing he'd played 3B last night.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Man, that's about as close as it gets at 1B. Looks safe, but who knows.

Not sure how he looked safe. The only argument you could possibly make was his heel hit first but even if it did, it still looked like he was out by an eyelash. At least now the fans there get to enjoy a crappy concert.

I used to be a big advocate for replay but MLB has botched it so bad. At times you'll see them a stare at an insignificant play in the 5th inning for 4 minutes and still get it wrong. On this one with our game on the line they take a quick glance and just stick with it. It's impossible to ever predict what they're going to do.

I mean, that play is so close that you have to stick with the ruling on the field. They probably just cycled through every angle they had and if none of them showed conclusively that his heel hit first or that Rodriguez was off the base, they would just stick with the call.

Looking at the replay, Rodriguez's foot might have been off the base but it's hard to tell when because the base "jumps up" when Braun's foot hits it.

He looked out to me. Base didnt move till his toes were on it. First basemans foot did look like it could have been off the bag but it was too hard to tell for sure.

Yeah, his foot was dragging away from the base to reach the show but it's impossible to tell when it did. It looks like it's fine since you can't see an opening between his foot and the base until Braun jars the base with his foot but since the ball was in his glove just before Braun touched the base, that's the only thing that really matters since the game is over at that point and where his foot is isn't an issue anymore.

You could look at that replay 500 times and say well maybe his heel hit the base just before the ball got there or maybe his foot came off the base right before he caught it but you're never going to get a definitive angle that would allow you to overturn the call.
