Marc Rzepczynski traded mid-season for the fourth time in six years

Lefty specialist Marc Rzepczynski was dealt to the Nationals by the Athletics for infielder Max Schlock. Teams in the playoff race often make moves like this - picking up role players for the stretch run, but a Rzepczynski trade is becoming an annual celebration.

Rzepczynski has been traded in July or August in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016. He managed to get dealt last off season as well.

This has nothing to do with Milwaukee. I'm just find it interesting.

Rzepczynski is a free agent after the season, so there's a good chance he ends up joining his seventh team since he debuted in 2009 (as a starter) for Toronto.

Still only 30, we can probably expect Rzepczynski to be traded mid-season another five times in his career.

Sadly it does have just a little to do with the Brewers. The 2011 trade was to St. Louis, and he was a member of the bullpen that LaRussa used rather masterfully in the NLCS. He appeared in five of the six games with 4.2 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 1 BB, 4 K. Inherited three runners, none of them scored.

He was clutch for the Tribe bullpen down the stretch in 2013. After Rich Hill bombed as a lefty in the bullpen (yes, the same guy now starting for the Dodgers), Tribe brought in Scrabble and he had a 0.836 WHIP logging 20.1 IP over 27 appearances.
