Um, why? I guess the .900+ AAA OPS is nice. Will Colorado Springs make the playoffs and they'll need another catcher after Milwaukee takes one of theirs for September?

Kind of an odd move. My memory of McKenry as a Pirate was Brewers taking all kinds of liberties on the bases with him catching. Maybe did have something with Braves owing a player for Bradley. Maybe there's interest out there in Maldonado on a waiver deal?

It looks like the story has been corrected. It now says "assigned" to Colorado Springs rather than "optioned."

Andrew Susac was placed on the DL with the Sky Sox. Backup Parker Berberet was activated, but Josmil Pinto is more of a 1B/DH these days, prompting the need for the McKenry acquisition, and the Brewers indicated it was for cash only, and not related to the Jed Bradley deal.

Susac went on the DL today. He had a shoulder injury earlier in the year, but I haven't heard why he was shelved this time.

 

McKenry went yard in his first game with the Sky Sox.
