Just to throw it out there, the Brewers have the most prospects rated 55 or higher, according to MLB Pipeline. A 55 grade means the player has a projection of an above average major league regular:

Brewers - 8

Braves - 7

Dodgers - 6

Yankees - 6

No other team has more than 5, and there are a couple teams that have none.

The Brewers also have the most prospects rated 50 or higher. A 50 grade means major league average regular:

Brewers - 19

Padres - 18

Yankees - 17

A's - 16

Phillies - 15

Rays - 15

No other team has as many as 15.

Pittsburgh isn't on either list, but they do have 2 (Glasnow, Meadows) of the top 9 prospects in baseball, also according to MLB Pipeline. And the Cardinals have the 7th best prospect (Reyes).

There are currently only 13 players on Pipeline's top 100 list with an overall rating of 60 or higher, none of which are Brewers. Arcia was a 60.

One of the drawbacks to doing the Top 25 after the trade deadline is that the post-season poll is really not that much different from the mid-season poll. The minors only really have about another month at that point, so those four week are not going to change our perceptions of players that much. A couple of guys usually graduate off the list in this time (like Arcia), so that'll shake things up a bit. But in reality, the team doesn't change that much. There are usually no trades (getting Cordell is the exception) in August-October that change a roster that much. Some guys get released or become minor league FAs, but those are - at best - borderline Top 25 players. I don't think anyone was voting for Sam Freeman to be in their Top 25. Same thing goes for Rule 5 draft. The guys we lose - or gain - tend to be fringy players. They might get a few votes, but they usually aren't Top 25 types.

We will still do a post-season poll, but let people know exactly when.

If there's going to be another poll at the start of the season, it might make sense to get this one in before trading season ramps up.

There's also some value in doing another one, I think, despite the lack of loads of additional data points. It takes time (at least for me) to process the minor league season as a whole, and looking through the system over the past few days and doing some additional reading/researching, I've begun changing my opinions a bit on some of the players, for better and worse.

My $0.02.

My vote would to wait a little and get some AFL results but probably wouldn't wait much longer than the end of the World Series. Otherwise there probably will be some transactions while the voting is taking place. I do think there is a chance a top 25 player or borderline guy gets selected in the rule 5 draft depending on who they protect.

Best long term option in my opinion:

1) Pre-Season(right before season starts)/Mid Season(after draft)/Off-season(right after MiLB season ends)

Right now doing one that goes into August makes one right after the season a bit boring. I like doing one right after the deadline, but the above set-up might make the best lists overall. The first list kicks off the season with winter moves or AFL performances, second adds a few draft picks plus allows us to move guys around after some performance, and the last list gives us a chance to rate guys after the entire season and add in the trade deadline guys.

This is a big reason to do things in the next few weeks. It was the same reason we waited until after the trade deadline as well. You hate to start up voting, and then have someone get traded (and potentially add in prospects from a trade) that mess up everyone's lists.
