Thanks. With Davies' excellent season, that incorrect WHIP sticks out like a sore thumb. I'll fix it.

Board would have blown up if Villar had been thrown out there.

At this point, it seems obvious he is just padding his stats, especially now that he and Billy Hamilton are tied again for the stolen base lead...

He needs a leash now, not in a year or two when we are competitive again. It will be too late by that time. This kind of recklessness just can't be allowed when the games actually mean something in the standings.

Sitting at Miller Park last night, I noticed two things, one of which was a new realization for me:

1. Ryan Braun felt like the "old guard" to me - both in terms of chronological age and roster seniority. That's not new, but it's in sharper relief now that Lucroy has been moved, so it felt new to me.

2. The lineup felt limited enough before the July trades, but now it really sticks out. That's not new to me (I don't know how many times prior to August I thought to myself, MAN, THIS BENCH), but it's extra stark now. This is more the type of roster it seemed like all of 2016 would "feature." I don't question the effort, but there does seem to be a ceiling on potential.

And I guess another thing:

3. I like Orlando Arcia in the field. :) Double play opportunities that turn on the SS don't make me hold my breath like they did in July or earlier.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I caught some of the game on TV down here in Atlanta.

With regards to Chris Carter's shot to the wall in extras, I don't think I've ever been so certain that a ball was homer off the bat when, in fact, it wasn't.

Lucroy is the only hitter that got traded. He's a good one but the lineup is only missing one guy. And he didn't even play every day. Plus Braun has missed big chunks of time already this season. What's killing the offense right now is that Carter hasn't been able to hit the broadside of a barn for over a month.
