Jeremy Jeffress Thank You To Fans

agent39

I just wanted to pass along a note. Fwiw we were going to take out a newspaper add but it was a bit cost prohibitive.

JJ wanted to thank everyone in Milwaukee for supporting him from the second he was drafted. He turned down a couple of mlb offers to take an milb deal just to come back to the Brewers. His heart will always remain in Milwaukee and took pride in wearing his Brewers uniforms. Working his way back from all of the hardships was an impossible task but with the love and support from this wonderful city he was able to right the ship once again thanks to everyone in the city of Milwaukee. He is so grateful for everything the club, staff, ownership, and you the wonderful fans have done for him. I can assure you he loves every brewer fan on earth and if anyone wants an autograph you can mail it to my office and I promise I will get it signed by spring at the latest. I will see him in tampa in 3 weeks and if you get it to me by then Ill do my best to get it signed. Please send a sase and whatever inscription youd like. This is an emotional time for us and I promise ill do my best to get everything back asap. He is excited to be in a w.s. chase but his heart will always be in Milwaukee. Always.

God Bless you all.

And thank you from me as well

Wouldn't surprise me if JJ is back one day.

Well, you're posting where the right person will see it. :)

Thanks for passing this along, Josh.

JJ is a prime example of how organizations should treat players. Discipline them if they mess up, but believe in them, support them, give them the help they need, and give them a second chance. JJ is also a prime example of how players should treat organizations who give them a second chance - own it, take advantage of the help they give you, and be good to them.

Milwaukee will never win the free agency money battle, but being a first-class organization and treating players like a first class organization is what will make guys come there and want to stay there.

Good luck in October. :)

He's a kid that's been easy to root for, and I give him a lot of credit for turning his career and his life around. I get that there were good baseball reasons to trade him, but he was the one guy from the bullpen that I hoped they'd hold on to. To me he's in the category of Jeff Cirillo and Chris Capuano, sentimental favorites who happened to be darned good players who just seemed to fit in Milwaukee, and guys that I secretly hope will return and retire as Brewers. Best of luck to JJ, and thanks to agent39 for giving us a little peek behind the scenes.

This is great to see, and I'm proud for all of us that he felt that way. I can't say it better than others have. I love the guy, I hate to see him go, and I hope he's lights out for Texas. Thanks for sharing the message Josh.

Thank you for doing this. It's really cool for an agent and player to be invested in a fan base.

I was a huge Jeffress fan when drafted. After the issues with the suspension I immediately assumed this was just going to turn into another case of a professional athlete who would end up just kind of wasting his talent by getting into trouble with drugs. You know what they say about assumptions being the mother of all... well you know the rest of that saying I'm sure. I'm glad that I was completely wrong and I couldn't have been happier to see Jeffress make his way back to Milwaukee and get his first taste of sustained big league success with our Brewers.

So best of luck to Jeffress hope to see him have a ton of success in Texas and would love to see him make his way back to Milwaukee if the opportunity ever presents itself.

I thought this trade deadline was going to be a bit emotional with Lucroy going, and I was right...but not because of Lucroy. Loved him as a Brewer, but it's been tougher to see JJ go. A passionate player who was fun to watch and always easy to root for, and the more I read about his sincere love for Milwaukee and our team, the easier it gets. Will be rooting for him hard in Texas and hope he makes his way back to us someday, somehow.

JJ was one of the better players at doing scoreboard stuff. Last year when the Brewers had the between-inning thing where the players were guessing song titles, he sang.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Loved rooting for Jeremy. So glad he'll get a playoff run in Texas. I'll definitely be rooting for the Rangers this post-season.

He was a young man who like a lot of us, went through a hard time and picked himself up. It was really fun to see his progress and move to the closers role and dominate this year. I hope he and Luc win one this year in Texas and maybe we'll reconnect down the road with Mr. Jeffress when we are ready to cause some damage of our own!

I told my kids, who don't know much of anything about baseball yet, about the trade. My daughter said, "The players the Brewers traded should just do badly on purpose so their new team sends them back to the Brewers!"

While clever, I'm not sure I would advise that. How about this: go win a World Series with Texas then come back to Milwaukee when we're ready for a run and close games for the guys the Brewers got for you in the trade. Sound like a plan?

JJ is seems like such a great guy and it has been a journey to follow his career. When a guy gets drafted by the Brewers and then spends a good amount of time playing for the Brewers, it's special. I hope he dominates in Texas and maybe he will wind up back in Milwaukee at a later date. No doubt he gets a nice ovation whenever his next appearance at Miller Park happens to be.

I was thinking about his career path yesterday and it's remarkable that he's been able to persevere through the ups and downs and still end up being a very solid major leaguer. I wish him nothing but success personally and professionally.

I thought this trade deadline was going to be a bit emotional with Lucroy going, and I was right...but not because of Lucroy. Loved him as a Brewer, but it's been tougher to see JJ go.

Right?! Bidding farewell to Lucroy is tough, but having literally months to anticipate it has made it feel like less of a shock.

For relievers, I figured at least one of "Willemy" would be gone by August 1. I was hoping it would be only one of them, or if they both left, that it would be to the same team and the Willemy pair would be preserved. So of course none of that happened and they're both gone to other teams. We can understand the big picture and still be sad about it.

It was extra satisfying to have Jeremy back in Milwaukee, and succeeding, after his first stint with the Brewers. Thus his departure stings a little extra. I'm going to admit that I can't get excited about rooting for the Rangers, but if they see the postseason with either Jeremy or Jonathan, I'll be happy for "our" guys.

Like others, I appreciate your sharing this, Josh. Hope you don't become a stranger around bf.net.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
