Lucroy to Cleveland - LUCROY HAS VETOED THE TRADE

And That
Carson Fulmer just carved him up in the Futures Games though. (1st batter in this video)

Edited to say: he did go 1 for 3 in that game

Carsen Fullmer has filthy MLB closer type stuff when on.

When not on and walking people. Thats a whole different story.

What is so bad about last year? His stats were pretty good for his age last year. I'd probably call them "holding his own" kind of stats. Low minors guys haven't broke out yet...just look at Arcia. He didn't hit that well at A ball

He slugged .345. That's terrible.

I'm not judging one way or the other, but that number is extremely concerning.

Young for the league for sure, and a catcher no less, but that gives me pause. I don't think that's worth ignoring completely.

How does Aiken compare to Mckenzie?

Aiken has had TJ surgery, McKenzie has not. That's the big thing for me.

McKenzie is also probably more get-able given how far off he is from contributing in the bigs. Still needs to fill out and add velocity, while Aiken is closer to physically mature. So there's more non-injury risk in McKenzie, but the TJ thing trumps that. At least to me.

I'd certainly take either one.

Jeff is a prospect/draft writer and covers the Indians in great depth. Take this for whatever you think it is worth...

@jeffMLBdraft: I am writing up Sheffield as the 4th player in the deal and assuming Allen the lesser spec. This is far from confirmed

There was a lot of speculation of Sheffield at the start of things, but no solid reports. It could very well be him.

If that's the case a lot of people freaked out before the full deal was announced.

Still hoping for McKenzie until forever.

Sheffield would make sense. Another young player in A ball.

The issue, he is 5 foot 10.

He is short, but I guess he doesn't pitch as flat as you would typically think. He also keeps the ball in the yard which someone like him might be prone to.

IMHO... IF it's Sheffield (or Aiken or McKenzie or any other Tribe pitching prospect in its top 30, DS did very well for the Crew and the Tribe overpaid for Lucroy alone.

IF there is no 4th prospect, then the Tribe made out very good in this trade.

To be an even trade, there should be a 4th prospect, a PTBNL that is outside the Tribe top 30. They have a number of good arms for DS to pick from and make contingent on how far the Tribe advances in the postseason...

Very late to the the party here, and I'm only through page 4 or 5 of the thread right now but I wanted to weigh in.

I made a couple of posts about Triston McKenzie prior to and during the 2015 draft, he's the guy I actually want the most. I've been enamored with him for a long time and like all pitchers I wanted prior to any draft I've been following his minor league career. I don't have issue an with Mejia at all, but if we're trading a premium talent like Lucroy he's the type of young pitcher I'd be hoping to get back in that deal, he's not good enough yet to be a headliner, but I'd want him included the package.

If we do indeed trade Will Smith for him in a separate deal I will be thrilled.

Yah I will probably complain about not getting McKenzie for a long time. If I was in charge I would have made it happen somehow. Even if I had to send more to the Indians to make it happen. I'm just going to pretend McKenzie was untouchable and there was no way to get him. Mejia/NcKenzie would have been incredible.

Honestly it is hard to get excited over Sheffield at 5'10". However I hope he impresses and proves me wrong as a starter.

Disappointed unless McKenize is the 4th player coming back, very odd that no arms were a part of this deal.

What are the chances that Lucroy says no then a mystery team doubles this offer by Monday?

If Sheffield or McKenzie is in the deal it seems fair to me. If not it seemsike but what do i know. Mejia and Sheffield are both top 100 type prospects for those who like rankings and Chang has really solid upside and could be a future 3b for the team. Switch McKenzie with Sheffield and you get a high upside young pitcher that everyone craves. It seems like Sheffield projects more as a number 3 where if things fell right with McKenzie he could but a top of the rotation type. All i know is i hope one of those guys is coming
