DSL Yankees2 11, DSL Brewers 5

Hopefully, the "Nice Arms" have more luck with the other affiliates than the DSL Brewers had today. 5 pitchers, Jose Alberro excepted (2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 1 K), were pretty much "off" today against the weak Yankees2 club.

Offensively, Luis Manon (1-3, 3B, BB), Bryan Torres (2-4, 2B, SB), and Luis Avalo (2-4) had some success.

Woodruff was a pretty talented HS arm and was drafted in 5th round with signability issues... Got to Mississippi State and just couldn't stay healthy or really get it going but the arm talent has always been there! Now he is really starting to show it! 7IP 10 Ks!

Final: Colorado Springs 3, Nashville 2

Rivera Homer Leads Sox Over Sounds 3-2

By Aaron Cheris / Colorado Springs Sky Sox

Colorado Springs Box Score

Colorado Springs Game Log

The Sky Sox defeated the Nashville Sounds 3-2 Friday night. The killing blow was a three run shot with two outs in the 7th inning by Yadiel Rivera. It was Rivera’s first HR of the season. Tyler Cravy picked up the win with two innings of hitless relief while Damien Magnifico earned his 13th save while working around a hit and a walk in the ninth inning.

Sky Sox starter Josh Hader had a solid outing, giving up two runs and striking out nine against three hits and three walk in five innings. He did continue his season long trend of throwing a fair amount of pitches - 88, with 54 strikes.

The Brewers managed only five hits against the Sounds, but added five walks. Luckily, Cechinni, Young and Rivera strung together three of our hits in the crucial 7th inning, culminating in Rivera’s HR, to clinch the game.

Shuckers' Woodruff keeps putting up zeros

Brewers No. 22 prospect extends scoreless streak to 24 1/3 innings

By Michael Peng / MiLB.com

One earned run. That's all Brandon Woodruff allowed in July.

He yielded that run on July 3 against Birmingham and gave up an unearned run in the first inning of his July 8 start against Jacksonville, but it's been all zeros since.
