1) Arcia- The AAA line is disappointing after a 126 wRC in Biloxi, but I haven’t given up on his offensive upside yet

2) Hader- 3 awful starts so far in AAA are tough to regress his overall line. Would be fun to give him a look in September

3) Brinson- If the Brewers are going to be competitive in the next half decade, it’ll be based on pitching and defense.

4) Woodruff- Woodruff’s July (42:5 K:BB, 1 ER) was probably the most dominating month a prospect has had since Ben Sheets beat the commies? Maybe Will Inman had a month as good too.

5) Phillips- He’s been relatively healthy and showing more power than in the past. Focusing on the positives here.

6) L. Ortiz- There is no such thing as a safe pitching prospect, but Ortiz seems like a good bet for mid-rotation starter

7) Clark-Strikeouts are somewhat discouraging and leading to an ugly BA, but he is still quite a bit above league average offensively. A strong finish would be nice.

8) Ray- Not panicking yet, but I’d be more excited if he was tearing the cover off the baseball.

9) Bickford- Velocity reports concern me, but he is still statistically dominating.

10) Ponce- Wonder if he will get a trip to the AFL after missing the start of the season

11) I. Diaz- Would prefer he be more hot, less cold, but he seems to have the skill set to be an everyday player

12) Diplan- Would have preferred he stayed in A ball to hack away at that walk rate

13) Lopez- He looked good in spring training so I’m not conceding he is lost yet. In fact, I’d have called him up to Milwaukee and let him work out of the big league bullpen in an attempt to simplify the game, boost his confidence and re-sharpen his stuff. Then if it works move him back to the rotation next spring.

14) D. Williams- He is 5-0 with a 2.31 ERA over his last 8 appearances. I’d bump him up to Brevard personally. Needs to get the walks under control.

15) Nottingham- Where the heck did the power go? Looked good in spring training, but doubting eh can stick behind the plate

16) Erceg- He must be hitting the ball hard to maintain the kind of BABIP he is, but would like to see him against more advanced pitching and defense

17) Medeiros- Can’t teach his breaking ball, but seems to have completely lost the strike zone. Still young enough to figure it out, but will need to show some improvement at some point

18) Reed- Still no power, and rising K rate has caused him to drop. But he still hasn’t lost his patient approach

19) Harrison- Reported looked great in spring training, but these injuries aren’t helping him get in much needed development time

20) Webb- STRIKEOUTS! Really like this pick.

21) Peralta- A great run in Wisconsin. With Missaki disappearing off the face of the earth and Herrera struggling early in AZL, he is the early gem of the Lind trade

22) Burnes- Encouraging start to his professional career. 97 on the gun is nice.

23) Kirby- I don’t know if there is a more equitable way to distribute comp balance picks than a lottery, but I’d like something that gives the Brewers more of an edge…. Or sharing of local TV revenue

24) M. Diaz- Looks like he is destined for reliever, but he has enough stuff that he could take off

25) Yamamoto- A rough close to July, but he has swing and miss stuff with enough control to stick in the rotation.

1. Orlando Arcia-outstanding defense and aptitude to hit

2. Luis Ortiz-has good stuff if his weight doesn't get him

3. Josh Hader-if it all comes together, he can be at the top of the list

4. Isan Diaz - love his pop at second

5. Lewis Brinson - great athlete, has trouble staying healthy. Tremendous upside but some risk

6. Lucas Erceg - future 3rd baseman of the Brewers? Good two way player, nice hit tool.

7. Phil Bickford - talented; like the two pitches, let's see if he develops more and becomes a MLB starter.

8. Trent Clark - billed as a "professional" hitter; still young, would like to see him turn it on down the stretch

9. Cody Ponce - love his arm; if it doesn't work out as a starter, could be a nice reliever

10. Marcos Diplan- can work on his command but showing strong potential

11. Corey Ray - high draft pedigree and has tools

12. Corbin Bernes - I am rating him this high as a steal in the draft

13. Brett Phillips - in a bit of a free fall. Defense will be there so should at least be a 4th MLB outfielder. Way too many K's

14. Brandon Woodruff - rising prospect, scouts speak highly of him

15. Gilbert Lara - he is a lottery ticket, lot of athleticism, but will it come together?

16. Freddy Peralta - nice pickup in Adam Lind deal; not a huge guy but he's producing

17. Jake Gatewood - showing progress, has a good ceiling, gym rat and loves baseball

18. Nate Kirby- very highly regarded before injury; let's hope for the best in his comeback

19. Demi Orimoleye-devastating athlete, let's see if he puts it together

20. Kodi Medeiros--not sure if he can harness his command, could be a loogy

21. Devin Williams --steady type of pitcher

22. Monte Harrison--another athlete who is getting the benefit of the doubt because of tools. Injuries have derailed.

23. Taylor Williams--tremendous arm and if he overcomes his injury, could be a tough closer

24. Jorge Lopez--fell off a cliff, but let's hope Colorado Springs got into his head and he can get back on trajectory

25. Jacob Nottingham--young guy with potential and needs to improve in all areas

*Just missed Chad McClanahan, Mario Feliciano, Braden Webb, Jon Perrin, Wei-chung Wang,

1. Luis Brinson-

Our two top prospects are both future gold glovers. However, one is a 5-tool player and the potential to be a 30-30 player in a time that features virtually none. Welcome to the top spot Brinson.

2. Orlando Arcia-

We all know what Arcia is. A gold glover that will be a long term starter on that alone. If the bat comes together he could be a top SS in the game.

3. Josh Hader-

I am sticking him over Ortiz because he is a more sure thing and closer to the MLB. I don't think he will be a TOR guy some are dreaming of, but he could be a mid-rotation guy or at worst an electric reliever.

4. Luis Ortiz-

I think he has a higher ceiling than Hader, but there are health concerns and he is farther off. Nastiest stuff in the organization.

5. Phil Bickford-

What a player to get for Will Smith. Bickford could end up as mid-rotation starter or at worst a top of the line reliever. He is going to be a force one way or the other.

6. Corey Ray-

I know a lot of people weren't happy with drafting him, but he has all the tools to be a great above average OFer. He has started out slow, but I am not concerned yet.

7. Isan Diaz-

This kid is legit and putting up great stats at Single-A. The power is there and the OBP skills are there two. Can't wait to watch him climb the ladder and the rankings. He may have to move to 2B, but his bat will play there just fine.

8. Trent Clark-

I love the hit tool and even more so with his great OBP skills he has shown. He is going to figure it out and break out soon enough.

9. Brett Phillips-

Phillips is a hard one to figure out. The second he came over to Milwaukee his K% spiked nearly double, but on the other hand his BB% went up too. He has the tools to be very good hopefully it will come together.

10. Marcos Diplan-

The first time I saw video of his fastball/slider combo my jaw dropped. I don't think he will make it as a starter, but he is going to find a ton of success in the bullpen.

BTW, Jim Callis just ranked our system as Number 1 in the game!!!

1) Lewis Brinson: 5 Tool CF with GG potential

2) Orlando Acria: GG SS

3) Josh Hader: Not sure if he is bullpen guy or not. Needs more command.

4) Luis Ortiz: Get in shape and he is a true TOR

5) Phil Bickford: At worst he is going to be high end bullpen guy

6) Brett Phillips: Disappointed AA season, still has the tools be a great one.

7) Marcos Diplan: Made the biggest leap of the pitchers, looks to be a sure fire rotation guy

8) Isan Diaz: Too many errors at SS but could be a really high end offensive 2B in the majors.

9) Cody Ponce: Too early but he has the arm

10) Lucas Erceg: Just came out and dominated. I need to see production, not just he "should" be good.

11) Brandon Woodruff: Productive

12) Corey Ray: Yuck I hated this pick and nothing so far has changed my mind. I see him in Milwaukee, but not elite.

13) Trent Clark: Good ops, but not killing it like a first round pick should.

14) Freddy Peralta: A lottery ticket paying off in one of my most hated of Stearns "cute" trades.

15) Jorge Lopez: Talk about a fall off! Is it Colorado?

16) Gilbert Lara: Potential I guess

17) Jake Gatewood: Coming around, very talented

18) Wei-Chung Wang: Under the radar but a solid starter who should pitch in Milwaukee one day

19) Joe Perrin: solid guy who just produces

20) Monte Harrison: An athlete who should be better than he is.

21) Devin Williams: Best season yet but no where near his potential

22) Demi Orimoloye: Big raw talent

23) Nathan Kirby: We will see, but his college career says we have a good one.

24) Jacob Nottingham: I have no idea why we traded a low cost Davis, let alone for this guy. I am keeping him on the list for pity.

25) Kodi Medieros: Another reach in the draft. Maybe one day a bullpen arm I guess, not worth the 12th pick at all.

Suter is the new Pickler

130 ABs

Or

50 IP

Wang has 17.1

Doh. Don't know what I was thinking, I saw 'em but for some reason I figured if Wang was with us an entire season he probably hit 50 innings. Obviously I was way off.

Wang's looked respectable in Biloxi this year, I believe.

Its not too late to change your list and put Brinson where he rightfully belongs. I understand he is new and his stats are down this year, but just take a quick peak. Kid is going to absolutely mash and play gold glove defense.

We basically set the parameters as 50 IP - and not strictly service time (which isn't always easy to find out). And it was, in my opinion, more of a common sense decision. Wang had only 17 IP in 2014, and it just seemed kind of odd to not treat him as a prospect. So, like I said, I just went with the 50 IP limit as a demarcation point, thus making him eligible.

Nice to see Stokes and Mallen on Otlander's list. Was considering both of them, they deserve a few votes.

Totally forgot about Mallen. I will have to edit my list later to stick him in there.

Don't sell Troy Stokes "short" either. (Pardon the pun, he's 5'8".) If he was 22 or repeating A ball, I wouldn't pay much attention, but that's not the case here.

Just 20 years old, went .791 at Helena last year. Tough start this year, steadily climbed to .748 and rising. He will take his walks, can steal some bases, and even has a bit of pop.

I know, I know, if he's so great why didn't I vote for him?!?! Toss up between him and Segovia at 25 (and 11 other guys.)

I am a fan of Stokes too. I think it was the last ranking or the one prior that I was one of the people to rank him higher than most. He didn't make my ranking because of what appears to be a lower ceiling. Too many high ceiling guys to pick from.
