Bummer on Barnes. He's a guy that I was looking forward to seeing if we trade off relievers. The next gen is Barnes, Magnifico, Knebel and Barrios, who has also been hurt.

Couldn't they have at least tried someone other than Blazek? Been there done that; just move on.

Looks like the Brewers may have enough Tommy John guys through the organization to field an entire pitching staff.

Why would they give up on a guy who was pretty awesome just a season ago? Makes no sense really.

Yeah, most relievers are pretty up and down, and there is no better time than now to give him playing time. It's very likely that we trade some of Jefferss/Thornburg/Smith, so we can use the rest of this season to see what we have. Hopefully some guys like Blazek can step forward and take a setup role next year, increasing their value to the team.
