I've wondered the same. He will most likely go to st louis in the future and become a Cy young candidate.

They might as well go ahead and eat their losses and release him. I don't care how thin the pitching market is, no one is going to be interested in Garza, not even in an August trade.

 

I'd rather see Peralta or Jungmann get lit up every 5th day. At least there's a sliver of hope of upside there.

Just release him already. Since the start of 2015 he's been arguably the worst starting pitcher in baseball. Amazing how Anderson and Schroeder always talk like we haven't seen this in what, 90% of his starts the last couple years?

Small sample size for two of the guys (Middlebrooks and Elmore), but no one should be shocked at their stats.

Garza's woes really accelerated at the end of 2015. In his last 11 starts (4 in 15, and 7 in 16), he's allowed 47 earned runs in 54 1/3 innings (7.80 ERA). He's had one quality start in those 11, and averaged just 5 innings per start.
