Milwaukee Bucks 2016 - 2017

Kidd has to go doesn't he? I'd be fine with right now, but at least at the end of the season. Halfcourt offense is terrible. Defensive system is terrible.

who knows?, kidd is good friends with ownership and has dealt with injuries this season.

i believe that Hammond is retiring after this season and Zanik will be taking over, who should get to hire his own coach if he wants.

I'm not sure there's a single person who says "Jason Kidd is the coach, let's go to a Bucks game." Yea, I think his name had some cache' when he was first announced as coach, but that excitement has died off long ago.

I mentioned this a while back, but starting to believe it even more- he is Scott Skiles. Skiles first year they played great defense, shared the ball on offense and made the playoffs. Then it all went downhill. Exactly the same thing with Kidd.

Will they make a change, or the right change? No idea, I have no confidence in the Owners. Hope I'm proven wrong, believe me, I just don't like anything that has been done in the organization the last couple years.

Yeah, I think Kidd's name created some buzz around the franchise, but it's like you said, it doesn't make people go to games. Giannis makes people go to games.

I really thought this team was turning a corner two years ago, and Kidd (honestly) looked like he was part of the solution. Giannis was a budding superstar, Parker was going to be his awesome Pippen-lite sidekick, and things looked pretty solid. Now Hammond is throwing money hand over fist at replacement players and is doing the Herb Kohl thing all over again of desperately trying to chase a 7 or 8 seed. It makes zero sense.

Backing dump trucks full of money up to Delevadova, Teletovic, Henson, and Plumlee (okay, somehow he traded that contract) is just mind boggling. Mind........boggling. None of those guys plays more than 20 minutes a game except Dele, and he's mediocre at anything other than being the dirtiest player in the league.

Add Monroe, that was a huge mistake and I said it at the time. Everyone said, oh he can be easily traded if necessary. No, we're stuck with him this year and again next year tying up $18MM a year.

He is Suppan. Bucks new Owners wanted to make a splash with a big name, and Monroe was the only guy they could get. Very similar to how Mark A courted Suppan shortly after buying the Brewers.

Monroe has been the lest of their problems this year. But yea I was in the camp of you'll always be able to trade him, so I was wrong there. Shocked they couldn't, well maybe they could but had delusions of the playoffs in their head because of the 3 wins before the deadline. Either way, you aren't out anything by having signed him. He played hard and tried in his two years here. I still fear that his descent play this year will lead to him opting out and us giving him a 4 year deal for like 60 mil.

He's going to opt out, someone will pay him. Teletovic was a good signing, Delly was a good signing. They haven't worked out ideally, but neither was questionable, IMO. They both filled holes, and served purposes. The system sucks, GA is thriving because he could thrive anywhere.

Signed Terrence Jonesfor the remainder of season, don't hate that pickup...

Would've rather had them sign someone young from the D-League. Take a flyer, see if they can find the next Isiah Thomas.

All Terrance Jones is going to do is give them 1-2 more wins this year which could very well be the difference between the 6th pick and the 10th pick in the draft.

He's only 25...they probably cut him because there's no room with Unibrow and Cousins. I think he could/should be a viable bench piece should he work out here. Unlike white stiffs Delly/Teletubby Jones actually has some atheticism and can score the basketball at a good clip. His defense is suspect but who on this team isn't playing suspect defense? He'll fit right in.

I don't recall Terrence Jones being that old.

he is only 25, i like the signing. i think this is better than taking a waiver on a d league player. Their last d league guy sat on the bench for 10 days and is now gone. Jones will be able to contribute with Beasley out and could be in the plans for 2018

I agree. I think he can be productive, and be a future piece. He filled in admirably for Davis when he missed a few games. He's youngish, has the Kentucky pedigree, I wanted him in the draft over Henson. I think he has some upside.

its a nice audition for both the team and the player, which is probably a better use of a roster sport that a d league player. I think he is a player that would be hard to get to sign with Milwaukee as a free agent in the offseason, but being in the city for 2 months and being around the players he may like it here. also it gives Zanick and Kidd a chance to see how he fits in with the system and the team.

If they wanted him to be a future piece, or if there was even a remote chance of that, they should've signed him for more than 6 weeks, or a team option for next year.

He's a volume 2-point shooter who can't really shoot.

"Taking a flyer" is what the Heat have done with their roster, and they are now 18-2 over their last 20 games.... playing 4 guys from the D-League.

Their last D-Leaguer they brought up was the exact same thing (a 31% 3-point shooter - that's bad). This team has no vision nor realization that 3-point shooting matters in the NBA now.

I think we may be underestimating Khris Middleton...sure its only a few games but all is right in the world down there and we're blowing teams away since he started playing 25+ minutes......

I've always thought Middleton was hugely underrated by Bucks fans in general, he just needed the ball out of his hands (and a non 1990's offense) to truly shine. Snell's inability to miss a shot has really opened up the floor and Middleton makes the right play (and moves the ball) so quickly it's amazing the difference in the offense.

I didn't think Middleton would get his shot back this well this season. Most guys who have leg injuries take awhile to truly find the stroke on their jumper again, because they don't get as much lift on their shot as they're used to.

If you could fill any position on the Bucks with a very good player what position would you fill?

Very important - assume that all players are of equal quality, and they cost the exact same.

Feel free to be as general (such as 'a shooting guard') to as specific (such as 'a defensive-minded center') as you want. Also, feel free to provide examples of the type of guy you would add.

Honestly, Fear The Deer era Andrew Bogut would make this team fearsome.

Good question. To me it comes down to lead ballhandler PG who can run PnR and attack the hoop while being able to shoot well, something like a Lillard type offensively, or a defensive rim running C like Jordan or prime Tyson Chandler. I guess I go with the PG because I think I can find that type of C more easily and cheaply this offseason than I can the PG. Though I acknowledge the C would help the team more right now, so I'm factoring future and future roster moves a little.

Klay Thompson. Whoever else that can be, or just him. A real 3pt shooting threat, that isn't a hindrance defensively. One who can simply game-change with 1 quarters' shooting.

I would agree with that, except PnR doesn't seem to be a big part of the Bucks offense. We may have discussed this before, but I think Middleton/Giannis could do a lot of damage in the PnR. I think Brogdon could even do more of that. But Giannis is always out on the perimeter somewhere, where nobody respects him. He should be a at elbows and the nail a lot more often to start their offense.

Anyhow, my vote is a rim protector who can at least function in the offense. Whiteside.
