The high walk rate doesn't seem to fit with the types of pitchers that Stearns has previously acquired. However, I'm sure that like Ramirez he'll be dumped as soon as something better comes along.

We have five bullpen guys that might be in play - Jeffress, Smith, Thornburg, Torres and Boyer. Some are more desirable that others, but a few could be dealt. That means areas like Schahill are okay to add at this point.

 

If nothing happens in the trade market, he can easily be let go if we need the space.
