High school classmates reunite to shape the future of the Brewers and Bucks

Eric Nehm, ESPN Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE – People don’t always look forward to high school reunions. Milwaukee Bucks forward Jabari Parker, however, could not wait for this one.

“My first thought was how much of a coincidence it was for both of us. Going to the same school, being so close to home (Chicago), and getting drafted by professional teams in Milwaukee,” Parker told ESPN Wisconsin. “What better way to have it happen?”

The second overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft was elated upon hearing that the Milwaukee Brewers used the fifth pick of the 2016 MLB Draft to select Louisville outfielder Corey Ray, a fellow classmate at Simeon Career Academy on Chicago’s South Side.

Final: DSL Tigers 12, DSL Brewers 7

D-Crew victimized by three four-run innings, errors big, as seven runs were unearned...

DSL Brewers Box Score

The one pitcher who has a pretty box score line, RHP Freisis Adames, allowed all three runners he inherited to score.

It was a pro debut for 18-year-old LHP Wilfred Salaman - the four runs he allowed in his one inning of work were all unearned. Salaman committed his own error in the inning, but it was a separate miscue that extended the frame.

DSL Brewers Game Log

Nine hits, including two doubles, and eight walks, for the Cervecerito offense, RF Bryan Connell reached three times.

Isan Diaz is my spirit animal.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Wow, it keeps getting better. Isan Diaz's two home runs tonight and overall dominant past month-plus just continue to fuel my unhealthy prospect-crush on the guy. He appears to be a special talent between how he carries himself on the field coupled with how well he consistently squares baseballs. I will try to temper the irrational expectations slightly, but outside of Arcia I am not sure there is a position player in the system I am more excited about than Diaz. It's a loooooong way from low A-ball to the majors, but as Mass Haas pointed out it is going to be one heck of a fun ride.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Yeah he really is hot....

DIAZ! To left and DEEP! GONE for @diaz_isan! His second #TRatTater of the game! This one comes with one out in the 6th! CR 4, WIS 3

Diaz is now tied for the Midwest League HR lead. Not too shabby after his tough start.

Also goes to show why we play a full season. Sometimes we get all bent out of shape after a bad month or two. Gotta be patient sometimes.

Wang's third straight quality start not enough in 3-1 loss to Suns

Tyrone Taylor homered for the third time in five games to extend hitting streak

Wei-Chung Wang has allowed just three runs over his last 20.2 innings and three starts. (Michael Krebs)

Biloxi Boxscore

Wei-Chung Wang has been on the upswing as the game story headline notes, but was undone by the 6th inning HR.

Johnny Davis continues to get IF singles, a bunt base hit today, as i said when he was in WI I'm unconvinced that sort of skill set will transition, and if it does, speed doesn't last so eventually all hitters need to be able to barrel up pitches. On a personal note I'm incredibly fond of Johnny but I have a hard time reconciling that against the realities of how he gets on base.

Cedar Rapids tops Rattlers 9-8 in 12 innings

Diaz homers twice, Ghelfi hits 3-run homer in ninth

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

Wisconsin Boxscore

Not a good day on the pitching side as all 4 Rattler pitchers gave up runs.

Troy Stokes (4-5,2 2B,BB) had his best performance of the year and pushed his AVE to .236. He was joined by Mitch Ghelfi (2-6,HR), Isan Diaz (2-5,2 HR,BB), David Denson (2-5,2B,BB), and Luis Aviles (2-5,BB) who all had multi hit games. In a rare occurrence for the Brewer organization, especially in WI, the team walked (7) as many times as it struck out.
