The Shuckers, Manatees, and Timber Rattlers all begin their second half schedules tonight.

The Sky Sox play a full-season, non-split schedule.

The standing links provided above all list the second-half standings as applicable, although there are easy links on those headings that will allow you to review the full-season standings as well.

Nice recent Sky Sox pre-game audio interviews:

Nate Orf -- Not only non-drafted, but a walk-on as Baylor as well, wow

Kurt Bathelt - the Colorado Springs video coordinator, interesting to learn his story as well, loved hearing about the combining of efforts with the video coordinators at the other Brewer affiliates

Bit from today's DSL Brewers game:

Andri De Los Santos singles on a ground ball to shortstop Luis Avila, deflected by first baseman Luis Avalo.

How does that happen?

By the way, if you access these games at the right time you can follow the game log as they type it. The whole game takes about a half hour because you only get the results of each at bat not the pitch-by-pitch version.

Here's another cool interview -- granted, I marked out on this interview more than most of you will, explanation below ;).

AUDIO: New Helena radio voice Craig Durham

Craig is interviewed by a Houston radio station, partly because Brewers' 10th round LHP Blake Fox (Rice University) was assigned to Helena, and one of the radio guys is Fox' uncle.

But it's so much more than that -- one of the radio hosts is former New England Patriots linebacker Ted Johnson, and Craig like myself, grew up on Patriots football and old Foxboro Stadium, even if I'm 20 years older than Craig.

And Johnson played a key role in Craig's early life, as you'll find out.

Not a lot to learn from a specific Brewers' perspective, but a fun ten-minute listen if you have time.

Wisconsin starts second half with 2-0 win

Rattlers hold Quad Cities to one hit

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

Conor Harber pitched five no-hit innings and struck out seven as the starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers on Thursday night.

Wisconsin Boxscore

I was a putz, I left the house before 7AM and didn't get home until 8:30PM, and I completely forgot about setting the DVR until I opened this thread. Regardless I love me some pitching and shutouts make me happy so I was pleased by the trifecta of Conor Harber, Jake Drossner, and Nate Griep who were outstanding. Griep now has 11 saves on the season, if you're into saves, I'm more into his rate stats though the strike out rate is lower than I would like, which is offset but an amazing WHIP, but regardless he's having a fantastic season to this point... and yes I just took time to highlight a reliever.

At one point the Rattlers had 3 hits, all doubles, with nothing to show for it, but shoddy defense in the 7th an 8th directly led to the 2 Rattler runs. Luis Aviles (2-4,2B) and Isan Diaz (2-3,2B,BB) had 4 of the T-Rat 5 hits in the contest.

Shuckers shake off no-hit bid, but fall, 3-2, to Biscuits

Biloxi scored twice in the ninth, but came up short in second-half opener

Garrett Cooper had a two-run single in the ninth inning, but Biloxi fell 3-2 on Thursday night (Michael Krebs)

Biloxi Boxscore

Well at least the Shuckers went down swinging, nearly pulling off a nice comeback.

Adrian Houser only lasted 4 innings allowing 3 runs and throwing just 73 pitches but the bullpen was outstanding once again allowing just 2 hits in 5 innings of work.

Nothing much to discuss on the position player side of things with just 2 hits, both in the 9th.

Biloxi Recap

Biloxi should have actually tied the game, 2 runs already in, no one out, and a runner on 3rd...

Biloxi Bottom of the 9th

  • Johnny Davis walks.
Jacob Nottingham walks. Johnny Davis to 2nd.
Brett Phillips singles on a sharp ground ball to center fielder Braxton Lee. Johnny Davis to 3rd. Jacob Nottingham to 2nd.
Garrett Cooper singles on a ground ball to right fielder Cade Gotta. Johnny Davis scores. Jacob Nottingham scores. Brett Phillips to 3rd.
Pitching Change: Kyle Winkler replaces Ryne Stanek.
Tyrone Taylor pops out to second baseman Kean Wong.
    Nick Ramirez strikes out swinging.
Gabriel Noriega grounds into a force out, shortstop Willy Adames to second baseman Kean Wong. Garrett Cooper out at 2nd.

Brevard County Box Score

Jon Perrin allowed 11 hits, 5 runs, 1 walk while recording 4 strike outs over 4.2 innings pitched.

Seven total hits for the Manatess, the only multi-hit game came from Elvis Rubio (2-for-4).

Extra base hits from Clint Coulter (double) and Fidel Pena (448ft home run as mentioned in the game story).

Blake Allemand in his first game back up with the Manatees since early this season went 1-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored, and 3 strikeouts.

Brevard County Game Log

Tough luck for CF Omar Garcia who was charged with an error that according to the game story was actually a ball that Clint Coulter lost in the twilight sky and Garcia attempted to get over to help Coulter. Two unearned runs scored following the two-out error.

Clearwater Top of the 7th

  • Kyle Martin grounds out, first baseman Dustin DeMuth to pitcher Kender Villegas.
Chace Numata grounds out to first baseman Dustin DeMuth.
Malquin Canelo singles on a sharp ground ball to third baseman Blake Allemand.
Jiandido Tromp reaches on a fielding error by center fielder Omar Garcia. Malquin Canelo scores. Jiandido Tromp to 2nd.
Herlis Rodriguez singles on a line drive to center fielder Omar Garcia. Jiandido Tromp scores.
Carlos Tocci pops out to second baseman George Iskenderian in foul territory.

Not just “at Night” anymore.
