That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Chase Anderson is 28 yet he's the "young" pitcher getting skipped? What?

I'd dispute "young," but it makes sense to skip someone with three of eight days off.

Man these west coast games are killing me. Not only has it been a frustrating trip record wise but the games get over so stinking late.

Jimmy didn't have his good stuff but nice to see him hold the fort down while working through it.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Not exactly sure what Maldonado was doing there.

Just a misread by him. It happens. Trying to be aggressive to score from second on a flare into the outfield.

I actually like West Coast baseball. I have no idea why because I think they suck in every other sport. I'm weird.

I get that it makes sense to skip a starter. My point was basically what you said. Anderson isn't young. Skipping a Davies start or something I would understand because he's only 23 but not Anderson, at least not for the reason they gave.

If they'd have said they were skipping Chase because his last two starts were shaky sucked, that would made sense. I didn't hear the report, so I don't know if "young" was the reporter's word or if it came from the team.

I don't think Davies really needs to skip a start. He'd be on an innings limit, but he seems to be on a pace to reach that limit without exceeding it.

Sophia definitely said it was because he was young. Maybe that's just their way of saying you've sucked lately, so we're skipping you but we're going to say it's because of an innings limit.

We just make too many mistakes. Passed balls, base running idiocy, etc., etc. So many times it doesn't seem like we are playing smart baseball.

Maybe I'm wrong - perhaps this is the norm.

At times people ask what is the next thing that we find out is undervalued in baseball (like OBP or defense or whatever).

In some ways, I want to say playing smart baseball. It's about all the little things - hitting cutoff men properly (and the cut off man being the right position), knowing how to actually lay down a bunt, knowing when to go from 2nd to 3rd on a ground ball, etc., etc.

I realize that there will be mistakes, there will be errors. That's part of the game. But if you can eliminate a bunch of the mental things - perhaps that is worth a lot more than we realize. And in the end - it's a 'free' thing - something that doesn't cost money.

Perhaps all this stuff is really emphasized. And it's just people being people. Some are good at the mental parts of things - such as playing baseball - others aren't that good.

Rambling done. Thanks.

None of that should be undervalued. Those are the most important parts of the game and are often the difference between a win and a loss.

We are who we thought we would be. A bad baseball team.

I'm not going to over analyze it. Just wish our young guys were ready to get their careers started so we could at least get a glimpse of the future while we were losing.
