Oswaldo Arcia

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/06/twins-designate-oswaldo-arcia.html

Twins just designated him down to AAA. Could he be a buy low candidate for the Brewers? I don't mind Kirk Niewenhuis but taking a shot on Arcia rebounding his career could be fun especially with his brother on his way up either by the end of this year or next.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I figured being only 25, having minor league success and a pretty good season a year ago might be worthy of the buy low candidate.

If all it costs is money (and not mine), I'm on board. Certainly more upside than Presley. If he figures out Major League pitching, its not like we have a 1st basemen of the future.

Hasn't there been attitude concerns though from the Twins? Might not want him too close to his brother.

Oswaldo is like any once highly thought of prospect - it can't hurt to look at him and assess if you think he can fulfill his one-time promise. A change of scenery can do wonders - JD Martinez, Arietta - even Villar - are examples.

I'm not saying to try and get the guy. I'm just saying that it never hurts to investigate why he struggled. Perhaps the club feels there's something they can do to right the guy.

I think Broxton needs to go down to triple A. the brewers don't really have a player on the CS roster to replace him. I think it would make sense to give Arcia a look, but i doubt it would work.

The issue is that you would need to play him 4-5 times a week to get a full evaluation on him and i don't see them doing that.

That would make the outfield options pretty left handed and limited in terms of flexibility. Arcia has pronounced career platoon splits and isnt an option for center like Broxton. He actually has 115 wRC+ for his career vs. right handers. Not to pick on Presley but there is no point to a 31 year old with a .263 wOBA on a rebuilding club. He is my vote if they can make this happen.
