Scoring batting out of order

I was scoring for a team recently that batted out of order but no one on either team caught it until an inning later. Everyone involved made an out so it really didn't make a difference but how would you score a batter batting out of order that reaches but the other team doesn't catch it.

Using the Brewers as an example.

1. Villar

2. Santana

3. Braun

4. Lucroy

Say Braun and Lucroy get the order messed up and Lucroy hits after Santana and gets a singe. Lucroy steals second and then Braun homers. Do those stats count for the players that did them or for the spot in the order?

Also, say the other team catches it after Lucroy singles. How do you score the out and is Lucroy still up since it's now his spot in the order? And if Lucroy is up what happens to Brauns at bat?

It totally depends when it's caught. In your Brewer scenario, if the other team appeals before the next pitch to the 5th batter, Braun is out and Luc is returned to second. Lucroy is still safe at second because they didn't protest before the next pitch to Braun.

If another pitch is thrown to the 5th batter, all is well.

If they appeal after Lucs at bat, before Braun bats, Luc would be out.

If they would appeal during an at bat, the correct batter comes to the plate with whatever count previous batter has.

Almost positive that's how it shakes out. Hope this helps.
