That Diplan/Peralta piggyback is a fun one to watch.

MLB rehabber Travis d'Arnaud knocked in the first St. Lucie Mets run of the day Sunday. They would beat the Manatees, 7-0. (Brevard County Manatees - Tim Holle)

Brevard County Box Score

Despite the headline the box score only credits the Manatees with two hits, a single by George Iskenderian and a double from Gregory McCall. Angel Ortega's "hit" was apparently changed to an error. In addition to only two hits the Manatees managed just one walk and had only left two runners on base all day.

Brevard County Game Log

This game wasn't pretty, but I highly recommend clicking the game story. The final paragraph includes a preview and quotes from Brevard County Manager Joe Ayrault about Cody Ponce's scheduled season debut tomorrow evening (weather permitting). If they can dodge the tropical storm we should be in for a real treat... Happy Cody Ponce Eve everybody!

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Kane County stops Rattlers 3-2

Matsui's eighth inning homer is the difference

David Denson went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and an RBI for the Rattlers on Sunday afternoon. (Wisconsin Timber Rattlers/Ann Mollica)

Wisconsin Boxscore

It's not right when the Rattlers lose a Macros Diplan/Freddy Peralta start. I've been posting all year how Diplan gets himself into trouble, he was riding the fence well most of the season and getting himself out of trouble, but for the 2nd game in a row it didn't work that way. His balk was particularly costly as he struck out the batter he was facing and the next hitter as well to get out of the inning.

The bats didn't show up today as the Rattlers managed just 4 hits.

Nottingham leads Shuckers to 4-2 win over Biscuits

Jacob Nottingham had a season-high three hits and three RBIs Sunday

Jacob Nottingham hit a third inning homer, his third in his last four games. (Jason Clark)

Biloxi Boxscore

I posted Jacob Nottingham's splits in the last couple of weeks, I forget exactly when, but he's been fantastic since the calendar flipped from April to May, and it's continuing in June as he's hitting .342 over his last 10 games. Remember he finished April hitting just .159 and is now batting .256.

The pitching was pretty darn good as well and though Brandon Woodruff hasn't been earth shattering in AA to this point, today he was really solid. The 3 pitchers out of the bullpen didn't allow a hit or walk while striking out 5.

Brewers pitcher Corey Knebel made a rehabilitation start Sunday with the Sky Sox. He was to make 20 pitches but made 13. Jorge Lopez, the game’s schedueled starter took over in the second inning. Knebel initially was placed on the DL on April 2 with an oblique injury.

New Orleans Bottom of the 1st

Kenny Wilson strikes out swinging.

Austin Nola grounds out, third baseman Will Middlebrooks to first baseman Garin Cecchini.

Robert Andino called out on strikes.

It's a bounty of riches, the current big league pen, let's hope there is as much effectiveness when truly needed as the rebuild takes shape in future years...

Just to clarify:

The Ortega issue in the 7th inning, was originally scored an ERROR, as I wrote in my article. After the game, I was told by the Manatees that it was going to be changed to a hit. The boxscore for whatever reason has not been updated, but I expect that it will be at some point. My headline and info within the article, is based on direct information from the Manatees.
