That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Yeah, Santana throwing out Herrera at home was great.

Telly surveyed the players on the uniforms. They were fine with the look, but they don't like how they're made. They specifically mentioned that they were too hot.

When double-knits were dropped, players were really happy to go back to a button front, a real belt, and a natural fabric.

Yeah if we could get an arm like Velasquez for Jeffress or Smith I'd be happy.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Nelson doesn't have the goods tonight. Getting swatted around a bit.

Scooter needs to go because his mistakes happen too often and he's not a good enough player to warrant keeping him.

Come on Braunie, get us back in this one!

I think he only saw one strike the entire at bat.

Barnes has really tighten up his slider since last I saw him. That sharp little late 1 to 7 break at 90-91 is pretty nasty. As long as he can keep it down, that's a major league strikeout pitch. Fastball still pretty straight, though.

That slider was sick.

Adam McCalvy wrote "There is a chance Barnes' stay will be short. Another reliever, Corey Knebel, should be ready to return from the disabled list early next week."

I wouldn't be surprised if Jacob has to be sent down to accommodate someone else, simply because his option situation would allow for it. He sure was impressive tonight, though.

Unless Barnes is inconsistent, i doubt he sees MiLB life again

Agreed, though it'll force their hand on someone without options.

You might be right but I doubt it on a team filled with guys with no options. Wouldn't mind Barnes being the guy to go back and forth though instead of Goforth.

I missed the game due to other commitments. In hind sight, would have been nice to catch some of it. I was a ten year old in 1976 and I really did like the robin egg blue scheme with the Blue with yellow trim. The M on the caps looked a tad too big.
