Via the Sky Sox blog, we learn that RHP Tim Dillard is for now a member of the Colorado Springs rotation.

***

So the club is playing better as of late, but the rotation has sure been in flux, guess we're looking at Lopez - Jungmann - Burgos - Dillard - Freeman, with Ariel Pena and Brent Suter in swing roles, particularly with Freeman's "starts" to try to get Sam right (Tyler Cravy on the DL).

Manatees take down Lakeland in series finale

By Donald Rieber, Jr., Manatees Examiner

Brevard County Box Score

Nice to see the Manatees scoring some runs over the past week after suffering a significant cold streak.

Three hits tonight for Dustin DeMuth (3-for-5). Other multi-hit efforts from Malik Collymore (2-for-4, double, stolen base) and Elvis Rubio (2-for-5, double).

The second relief outing with the Manatees for Corey Knebel, the Texan went 2.0 innings allowing one hit and zero walks while striking out four.

Brevard County Game Log

Five errors for Lakeland... OUCH!

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Rattlers take road trip finale 3-1 at Peoria

Allemand goes 4-for-4 with a homer; Belonis knocks in go-ahead run in 8th

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

Wisconsin Boxscore

Devin Williams finally pitched like I had been expecting him to which was awesome, it would be sweet if he would keep it going for the rest of the season. There will always be a bump or 2 in the road, but I mean in general. Jordan Yamamoto has been steady all season, who would have thought he would be out pitching Medeiros at the same point in their careers? I realize they are at different levels, but the progression from Jordan has been impressive.

Blake Allemand (4-4,HR) had another monster game but isn't going anywhere until Tucker Neuhaus returns from injury, BC has been starved for offense all season and if he continues hitting after getting bumped back up it will be a welcome addition to that roster. Carlos Belonis (3-4) continues his stellar campaign as well, he's hit .342 over his last 10 games and has bumped his AVE up to .299.

M-Braves' five-run sixth inning downs Shuckers Thursday

Domingo Santana goes 1-for-3 in his final rehab start from Milwaukee

Domingo Santana went 1-for-3 with a walk in his final rehab outing with the Shuckers on Thursday (Michael Krebs)

Biloxi Boxscore

Man do I hate losing to prospects who I wanted in the draft, Sean Newcomb gave up 2 hits and struck out 7 batters, though he did walk 3 Shuckers in his 6 innings. Javier Salas was matching him inning per inning for a while, but it all came crashing down in the 6th, and then Brooks Hall added more fuel to the fire in the 7th. At least Hobbs Johnson posted his first scoreless outing since 5/8, he had a DL stint in there but it's been a rough season for him to this point.

I would term Brett Phillips' season to this point as below expectations, but he's still posted an .817 OPS and hit 7 HRs in less than half a season, at a defensive orientated position. Hopefully the plate discipline and AVE will improve as the season progresses, this is what BA said about him coming into 2016:

Whether Phillips hits for power or not, he projects as a disciplined, top-of-the-order hitter. He shows good bat speed with a level swing geared more for line drives than loft. He gets in trouble when trying to pull the ball too much, but the lefthanded hitter generally hits to the middle of the field and hangs in well versus southpaws. Phillips has the range and arm to play center field, and he probably will play there for the Brewers, based on team need. His arm also plays in right field. While not a prolific basestealer, he runs well and has good instincts.

Will Middlebrooks and Jake Elmore had plenty to celebrate in the Sky Sox win on Thursday night. (Paat Kelly photo)

Eleven unanswered runs, wow!

Really something how many times this offense has come back after a blow-up start; fun for the locals, been a while since this team was competitive, going back to their Rockies days...

Colorado Springs Box Score

I guess I understand what the Brewers are trying to do with LHP Sam Freeman, or do I? Controlled environment? Converted starter? Either way, Freeman has been lit up in every fashion in every locale...

Clean defense, nice work out of the pen; guess I blasted Will Middlebrooks enough earlier that he's taken note -- five multi-hit games in his last seven, and he even threw in a walk here; boy, we have not given Jake Elmore enough love, on base all four times here, the soon-to-be 29-year-old sports a ridiculous .343/.456/.402 line in 102 AB's.
