There is no justification for taking Bruce over Braun....absolutely none. Braun finished 5th in the NL outfield vote, and has a 2.6 WAR. Bruce wasn't even in the top 15 in the NL OF vote, and has a 0.2 WAR. Screw Terry Collins.

Marte's dWAR this year is 0.6. Braun's is 0.3. Not that big a difference when you look at the offensive production gap. Marte has an .826 OPS. Braun's is .894.

 

Wait, you're not arguing that Braun is a better outfielder than Marte are you? Because Marte is pretty darn good defensively. And Braun is......not.

 

Marte got snubbed big-time too.

 

Eh. Marte has 27 steals.

 

He's the better player. Bruce, I agree.
