Wisconsin takes it to 11 in 2-1 win

Timber Rattlers beat Cedar Rapids in 11 innings

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

Wisconsin Boxscore

I was watching the D3 World Series and following this game on my phone, switching constantly between the Rattlers and Shuckers on gameday because both games were fantastic. Jordan Yamamoto has been strong most of the season, he's had some blips, but for the most part he's been steady. Devin Williams was much better tonight, but still isn't throwing enough strikes, he threw 79 pitches to get through 4.1 innings.

Blake Allemand (2-4) had the only multi hit game for the Rattlers who collected just 6 hits and struck out 17(!) times.

Shaw's 10th inning walk-off single lifts Shuckers!

Josh Hader struck out six BayBears over 5.1 innings on Saturday

Biloxi Shuckers

Nick Shaw provided the walk-off single scoring Tyrone Taylor in the bottom of the 10th inning (Michael Krebs)

Biloxi Boxscore

So Josh Hader was right on track through 4 throwing 64 pitches to get to that point, but then had a bit of blow up inning and only gets through 5.1 on his pitch count while doing his typical stellar work, and he even collected a hit tonight to boot. The thing is, he doesn't consistently get easy innings from a pitch count perspective, innings of less than 10 pitches are few and far between for him at this time, so one bad inning from a pitch count perspective and he won't make 6. The bullpen was awesome though Daniel Tillman made it a bit interesting but came through in the end.

Biloxi has quite a few interesting monthly splits... guys like Javier Betancourt and Victor Roache started hot and had rough going in May, while Jacob Nottingham was the reverse with a terrible April and fantastic May, then you have Brett Phillips who has flashed brilliance in spots but has made incremental improvement from April to May (DL stint aside). May's player of the month will be interesting as there are quite a few legit choices... Cooper, Gatewood, and Nottingham all immediately jump to mind, though my money is on Gatewood with his HR barrage.
