I'm assuming that is a typo on the original writeup but apparently Chase lost his Sox. The real point to this post is that today is my first game this season so hopefully the Brewers can ride their good games into today as well.

Only 2 1/2 games behind the Cardinals, would be awesome to catch them even if it doesn't last.

If we do catch them AND it lasts, it would be a baseball miracle. Here's the June schedule after the final STL game:

4 @ PHI

2 vs. OAK

4 vs. NYM

3 @ SF

4 @ LAD

2 @ OAK

3 vs. WAS

3 vs. LAD

While I'm enjoying the winning I won't be too sad if we tank a bit through that stretch. I'd like a better draft pick than what we currently sit at~.

4 @ PHI is still not scary to me at all, I fully expect them to tank. The 21 games after that are all against playoff contenders though.

A win today could just bump their playoff odds to 0.2%.

Or, about 10 times as likely as Leicester's pre-season championship odds.

Leicester won the league once this season, so if my math is correct, this means the Brewers will snag all ten playoff spots this season.

In other words, a win today guarantees a world series victory.

Fixed (sox changed to six). :)

So biased. Too close to really tell? Anyone watching that replay could tell he was out. And it obviously wasn't too close to tell otherwise they wouldn't have overturned the call.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty clear that Villar was out — after having the benefit of seeing the replays, of course. The replay on Carter was more interesting. Votto simply failed to touch first… by a hair.

At any rate, the Reds are out of challenges.

Hill's infield single would have been worthy of a challenge if it were allowed.

Strange play. Tyler Holt attempted to steal home while Alfredo Simon was batting. Simon squared to bunt and was hit by the pitch. Holt had to go back to third.

Wow. Simon absolutely drilled Anderson with a pitch and was ejected.

Can't watch it. Up near the head?

He missed him down and in by the legs on the first pitch and then drilled him way up in the middle of the back by the letters on the second pitch.

He was hit in the shoulder. We won't really know how OK Chase is until he can start warming up.

The first pitch to Anderson was inside but didn't hit him, thus the ejection.

Chase has three HBPs today, but it'd be a stretch to say that any of them were intentional. He hasn't been pitching all that well.

The HBP to Simon was definitely intentional to prevent the runner from stealing home. It hit Simon in the hip and Simon was visibly upset after it, spiking his bat into the dirt. I can kind of see his point.

Even if you're going to retaliate, got to pick and choose your spots. Plunking a sure out to lead off the inning in a 2-1 game with the top of the order coming up is a pretty stupid way to do it, and I'm glad they paid for it.

Shows quite a bit about how much the Reds really care about winning games.

BA keeps saying that Chase was hit in the right shoulder blade. But given that Chase is a righty hitter, how can he be hit there?

Well the bullpen success was fun while it lasted. Yikes.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
