Manatees infielder George Iskenderian, a former Miami Hurricanes athlete, spending his time on the DL watching his alma mater play in the ACC tournament and had a keen observation via Twitter...

@giskenderian7:Since when was eye black for night games a trend? Lights must be bright in Greensboro this year

Well Mr. Iskenderian it may not have reached the masses with the trendy appeal of snap bracelets, hypercolor shirts, or Crocs, but eye black at night is certainly a thing. ;)

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Final: Clearwater 1, Brevard County 0

Clearwater's first inning run stands alone in win over Manatees

By Donald Rieber, Jr., Manatees Examiner

Brevard County Box Score

As Mass Haas (@Mass_Haas) pointed out on Twitter, the Manatees have been shut out in 5 of their last 8 games.

Clint Coulter made his return to RF from an oblique injury, it was his first appearance since Cinco De Mayo. He went 0-for-4, but put the ball in play in all four at-bats.

All good things must come to an end, tonight that was the case for Johnny Davis' 31-game on-base streak.

Jon Perrin continues his season of excellence, 6.0 IP, 3 hits, 1 earned run, 0 walks, 5 strikeouts.

Brevard County Game Log

Rehabbing Will Smith threw two innings retiring all six batters he faced. His first frame was especially impressive as he struck out the side on 10 pitches...

Clearwater Top of the 7th

Pitching Change: Will Smith replaces Jon Perrin.

Andrew Pullin called out on strikes.

Zach Green strikes out swinging.

Gabriel Lino called out on strikes.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Javi Salas tossed 5.2 innings and earned the win on Thursday night (Michael Krebs)

Biloxi Game 1 Boxscore

Game 1 didn't go so well as Adrian Houser struggled again giving up 10 hits and 5 runs in 5 innings. Stephen Peterson had a rare off day as well giving up 2 runs in 1 inning.

Javier Betancourt (2-3,HR) had the only multi hit game for the Shuckers and drove in both runs with his HR.

Biloxi Game 2 Boxscore

Game 2 was much better with Biloxi all over opposing pitcher Billy Buckner. Javier Salas had his best outing in some time allowing 3 hits, 1 walk, and no runs against 4 strike outs in his 5.2 innings while throwing 52 of 96 pitches for strikes.

I'm not sure if the game story will mention it but the Suckers pounded out 13 hits in just 7 innings in Game 2.

Rattlers rally, but fall 7-6 in eleven innings

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

Wisconsin Boxscore

Freddy Peralta was victimized by a Carlos Belonis misplay that was ruled a double even though he got his glove on it, Chris initially thought he caught it about knee high but somehow it got him through him, and that sent Freddy on the downward spiral. Marcos Diplan did what he's done all year, get himself into and out of trouble with 4 clean innings, in fact the bullpen as a whole was fantastic.

The hitters battled all the way back with Blake Allemand, Isan Diaz, David Denson, and Monte Harrison who was finally dropped to the bottom of the order had multi hit games for the Rattlers.

Hiram Burgos is capable, we know that, looked good for him early on here; Darren Ford is still just 30 - talk about longtime connections:

Selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 18th round (No. 526 overall) of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft...was traded by the Brewers to the San Francisco Giants in July 2008
