That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

I would have no idea how to research it but I would bet a lot that we are either at the top or near the top of baseball in strikeouts looking.

I actually just read something about this, and I'm pretty sure we are.

Yeah, that check swing that was called a ball should have resulted in a strikeout.

First base and third base umpires who miss a check swing that badly should be disciplined. It's flat out neglect of your job. Beckham strikes out, but because the first base umpire just flat out isn't paying attention, it costs us 2 runs.

Sorry this is a huge pet peeve of mine. It's hard enough for 25 players to win an MLB game without it hinging on 1 'professional' umpire's lack of discipline and vigilance to pay attention for 3 hours.

Great call ump. You cost us 2 runs. How can no one of the Brewers bench say anything about that?

There's nothing they can do, it's not like they can review it. It's his job to get the call right and he blew it, plain and simple.

Anyone who has gone to a game and sat down the lines knows that you can tell from all the way out by the poles whether a guy went around or not. The only way to blow that call when its that obvious just not paying attention.

Luc should have just taken off for the dugout and might have gotten the call like he did earlier in the game. Since that umpire obviously needs help making the correct call you may as well help him get it right.

I realize Guerra did not have his A command today but I struggle to understand pulling your starter at 84 pitches and 5 shutout innings to bring in a 6+ FIP pitcher in a 1-run game. Oh well, hindsight is perfect.

Couldn't he just bunt his way on for a hit, with that speed? Or, is asking him to square up for a bunt beyond his skill package?
There are three things America will be known for 2000 years from now when they study this civilization: the Constitution, jazz music and baseball. They're the three most beautifully designed things this culture has ever produced. Gerald Early

I haven't heard a peep about Rymer Liriano lately. Would be nice to get him back with how little Flores and Broxton are doing.

I don't love everything about how Counsell manages, but I absolutely love that he actually uses his brain managing the bullpen in extras and doesn't just adhere to strict conventional 'wisdom'.

I can never decide if Jeffress should 'count' as a 1st round pick of ours panning out. We took him in the 1st. Traded him. He was DFAed, winded up back here, and now full circle, he looks like the closer we thought he'd be someday.

I don't know if it's his vision, his attention span, or what it is, but this first base umpire is not qualified to do his job. Plain and simple.

Neither of these check swings were close. We're not talking about ones that could have gone either way.

Villar coming through again. Guy continues to do things to help this ball club.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
