I realize Dakota Hudson wore out here recently, but his fall surprises me. He had some lights out games this year.

I'm guessing some team is floating him, i.e. he's giving other teams a massive price tag and one of the largest draft pools is going to sign him with their 2nd/3rd pick for upper-first-round money.

Jon Duplantier. A bit of an injury risk, but in 111 IP this year he struck out 148 and gave up only 77 hits. Walks a little high (47). Missed all of 2015 with a shoulder injury.

"Duplantier has regained his 91-96 mph fastball and maintains it deep into games. His heater is tough not only because of its velocity, but also because his extension in the front of his delivery makes it appear faster and it features run and sink."

Sorry out at my daughters softball games just one thought on our 1st round pick I like him a lot huge upside great athlete only one question how many of these type of outfilders can we utilize? Seems to me we are in more need of power hitters and top end pitching .

This isn't the first time the Brewers picked a shorter OF with with a top 10 pick because he was an electrifying base stealer...

In the 90s the Brewers selected Chad Green out of Kentucky in spite of questions about his bat. Green flamed out badly.

However, don't compare Green to Ray. Green had a much higher OPS.

Yah don't compare them. There are not any questions about Corey Ray's bat.

Burdi is gonna be a hell of a closer/high leverage reliever. Dude has NASTY stuff.

There's talk that teams may try to move him to a starter because he has a cleaner delivery and throws more strikes than Nick. He doesn't reach 100mph like Nick, more in the 96-98 range, but I wouldn't be surprised if the plan is to move him to a starter.

Yup. He cannot, without question, hit. Mediocre, average, obp, slugging. Even worse with wood bats. He is high energy, and a base stealer. Tiny Felder for those who remember him.

Wouldn't mind a guy who projects as wicked bullpen arm. Robert Tyler could be that kind of guy. Also wouldn't mind a pitcher that is advanced and a safer bet to be a mid rotation option.

Thats realistically speaking see we don't have a ton of extra money to spend.

What are thoughts on Kevin Gowdy? Seems to have a good feel for pitching for a HS kid, and at 6'4" 170 he certainly has room to develop and add velocity.

Would be great if we have enough money in our draft pool at #5 to get one of the high upside HS pitchers remaining.

Well I put him in my hopefuls. But reads he may price himself beyond what Milwaukee can do.

Nab a couple of senior signs in the 5th & 6th rounds and you'll have some extra cash. Gatewood went for less than $500K over slot at #41. Harrison was $700K over slot, but he had a football scholarship.

Who are we hoping falls to the second round boys?

Most of my hopefuls have gone but I like Carlos Cortes.

Some other young guys I'd like to take shots on (way) later:

Blake Sabol

Will Ethridge

Ray Gaither
