2016 Draft Pick Discussion, Rounds 6-20

Brewer Fanatic Contributor
Anybody hearing anything on Chad McLanahan and/or Zach Clark? I've been googling these guys and not hearing anything.

With all the underslot signings, maybe they can satisfy McLanahan. He's open to something if the Brewers can get close. He'd be a nice coup. Keep your fingers crossed.

;)

I think its still 5%. 950K would be over 5%

It's a little over $950k to sign McClanahan if they don't go over $100k on anyone else, if all other bonuses so far have been reported correctly, and if Ray signs for slot.

Bonus pool money is reduced only for every dollar spent over $100k for each round in rounds 11+.

Zack Clark is very interesting. Had a monster Junior season in High School then an injury cost him his senior year. Goes to CC & earns scholarship to Alabama. Great size and tools. He'd be a nice sign for sure. McClanahan really going to need around 1 million?

Proud member since 2003 (geez ha I was 14 then)

FORMERLY BrewCrewWS2008 and YoungGeezy don't even remember other names used

McClanahan was ranked about 122 in the MLB pipeline, thats round 4. The 109 pick got 1.2M, 112 pick earned 1M, 126 earned 850,000. His coach came out and said he wants to be a SunDevil, so I'm sure he's playing it tough right now, but who knows how much he's asking.

The @BrewersPD Twitter account adamant that 7th round draft selection Daniel Brown has not signed yet, here is the LINK.

Wonder if something came up on his physical. While he reportedly agreed to slot, it'd still lower the amount the Brewers can go over without draft pick penalties. Hopefully just a technicality at this point.

Expect McClanahan to sign after Ray's contract gets figured out, which should be in the next few days.

Curious if this is coming from a source, or your opinion? Trying to temper expectations... haha. Thanks for sharing the awesome info!

Guessing opinion, but maybe reilly is connected. :)

It makes sense that McClanahan, Clark, Crow, etc., wouldn't sign until after Ray signs because the Brewers won't have an exact amount of available pool money left until then. You also can't risk giving those guys large bonuses and run out of money in case Ray's demands go up for some reason.

This has been up on the Brewers' site for a bit, but I didn't see it linked yet so...

That pretty much used up all the wriggle room the Brewers had without losing future draft picks. Don't look for any other HS players to sign now baring some emergency in their lives. There are still a couple of college seniors who haven't signed.
