That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

BA observed that it looks like the Mets have put "heavy water" on the dirt in front of home plate. Does that mean that there's something different about the water, or does it simply mean that the dirt was watered heavily?

Jhan Mariñez finally makes his Brewer debut with a nice sixth inning. He walked Céspedes but followed up to strike out the side. Walks have been his issue, so it'll be interesting to see how things work out.

This team is so infuriating to watch this series.

1st and 3rd nobody out, Presley gets thrown out trying to take 2nd, Counsell doesn't ask the umpires to look at a close play, Flores Ks, and once again we don't get the hit with RISP to cash in.

Very frustrating.

Brewers had burned their challenge. He was the trying run so getting to 2d with nobody out is important. I didn't see the play but I'm not sure it's a mental mistake.

Brewers had burned their challenge.

Yeah, they had used their challenge, but beginning in the seventh inning, teams can ask the umpires to request a replay.

He was out anyways. Even if he was safe in the first part, his foot clearly came off the base after the slide while the tag was still being applied.

Syndergaard is awesome and it's nice to see Jim Henderson back in the big leagues and pitching well.

I'm guessing it means it was watered heavily to make it easier to slow down any of Syndergaard's sliders that bounced in the dirt.

That's what I figured about the water. The dirt in front of home plate has stayed wet throughout the game, and I'd be surprised if the hose were brought out for in-game touch-ups. The other night, the area around home plate was so wet that there was actually drying stuff spread on the batter's boxes.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
