Quite the cookie by Taylor Jungmann in his brutal six-run 1/3 of an inning Thursday --

Amazingly, Jungmann did not suffer the loss as his offense bailed him out, including a shot by Andy Wilkins--

Angel Ortega went 2-for-4 in Friday night's loss to Jupiter.

Brevard County Box Score

The top two Brevard County hitters in both the batting ordered and batting average, Johnny Davis and Angel Ortega, each had a hit to start the game. Ortega added a second hit and was the only Manatee with multiple hits.

Clint Terry went 5.0 IP allowing 7 hits, 2 earned runs, 0 walks, and sending one batter down on strikes.

Brevard County Game Log

Kender Villegas pitched 3.0 innings without allowing any hits, runs, or walks while striking out 5. He did however hit back-to-back batters in the 6th inning and as the game story points out one of the hit batters took a pitch to the helmet.

Forgettable debut at the plate for Malik Collymore who struck out in his first at-bat and proceeded to ground into double plays in his only two other appearances.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Kane County holds off Wisconsin 3-1

Carlos Belonis went 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Rattlers on Friday night. (Wisconsin Timber Rattlers/Ann Mollica)

Wisconsin Boxscore

David Lucroy throws from a low 3/4 arm slot, he's kind of all over the place with his FB, his CB is actually pretty decent. Jake Drossner actually looks better than his stats would suggest, but he leaves the ball up way too much. It looks like he's got a slider and cb based on the break of each, but without velocity I wasn't able to tell if he changing the shape of his CB or throwing 2 different pitches.

Just 5 hits, none for extra bases, for the Rattlers whom ran into Justin Donatella, he was the AZ pitcher of the month for April.

Free Orf.

In some ways, Orf seems like he could be what the team wants Colin Walsh to be - 3B/2B/OF. Doesn't switch hit, doesn't walk like Walsh (but he's no slouch), but he seems like he'd be a better fielder and a more accomplished hitter (at least at this point).

One might say that Walsh walks (or tries to walk) too much. There is something to be said for swinging at good strikes... Orf's career MiLB walk rate of 12.5% is plenty good.

I bet they give Walsh a bit more time, but I wouldn't mind seeing Orf at the MLB level sometime this year.
