The center field well was designed to produce triples. It's always too bad when it produces them for the opponent, though.

That's what they say but this is the first time I can ever remember one happening that. It probably has before but it doesn't seem like it happens very often.

I think it's OK to exceed 110 pitches once in a while, especially when a guy is 31 years old. But 113 is quite a bit more than the 72, 94, and 83 pitches that Señor Senior Guerra threw in his previous starts.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

113 pitches isn't that much either. Probably don't want him doing that every time out, but if he is strong, why not? He was showing evidence of getting tired that seventh inning (splitter hanging), but with our BP heavily used last night, getting one more inning from the SP was big.

But even being tired, he was at 94MPH. I think he was a bit pumped. :)

We lament poor base running a lot here, but let's give credit to Scooter for some good base running there. Lots of guys would've gone halfway or more to second on that fly ball, but he read it correctly and was ready to tag up. If he didn't do that, he wouldn't have scored on the base hit.

Big two out RBI by Hernan!

Plus two more stolen bases. When I see him play he doesn't seem like he would be a big base stealing threat but has had success in the minors and majors as he is safe around 80% of the time.

Walking the first two batters in a save situation isn't good (obviously). Capuano is getting up in the bullpen.

Big strikeout there. Now the double play ball, please.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Maybe I missed something and there is a better reason..but Jeffress can't pitch 3 days in a row? Seriously?

Granted there was a day off, but I think the reason is that it'd be five games in a row. You might also throw in a day game after a night game where he didn't perform well.

Having said that, I wouldn't have questioned it had Jeffress pitched.

No two situations are the same. Maybe JJ got to the ballpark and realized his arm is tired and he wasn't ready to go today. He is a human, not a robot.
