Colin Walsh reminds me of this kid on my HS team where he sucked so bad, but got walked/HBP every other at-bat. It's like he he has a force field to deflect balls out of the strike zone.

You could just respect him for working the zone. If he can figure out hitting at all he will have an amazing value to the Brewers.

His approach is to stand there until he has 2 strikes and then hopefully foul enough off so he can get walked. He will never hit the way he goes up to the plate. There is a reason his average is so low and it is because he isn't trying to hit the ball.

Chris Carter is pretty close to hitting a bunch of homeruns; he's 'just missed' a few times in at-bats tonight and last night on his sac-fly he almost hit a bomb. He's also left a lot of guys on base in the process, but I think he's pretty close to hitting a few bombs before the next cold streak.

On a scale of 1-99 Jonathan Villar's clutch rating is a 1. That dude is a choke job every time he has a big at-bat. That is the third time now I recall him striking out in a huge spot with the bases loaded.

...and don't forget his poor base running. How many times has he made critical base running errors already this season. He is becoming Gomez-esque in that department.

I've liked villar but boy between the botched double plays and caught stealings...

Seemed like that may have been called for though because scooter really swung on a crap pitch.

No way that was called......not a runner on second and 1 out with 2 strikes on the hitter.

Villar has been worth positive runs on the basepaths this year so really, he hasn't been poor on the basepaths.

I guess I don't see the problem w/ this. If Scooter doesn't swing at a pitch that bounced and Villar was safe (which I think he was), then he's on third with 1 out.

I don't either. Here and there you have to take chances. Scooters horrible at bat and a perfect bang/bang throw over shadows those who always want to play out games "the way they are supposed to be played."

More of just a talking point for most.

And if he's on 2nd with one out he's got two chances to score on a hit. To me it was foolish to risk an out for the chance you get to 3rd.

I don't necessarily agree with it, but I don't think it is foolish or have a problem with it. Getting on 3rd creates many more opportunities to score. Especially when the next two guys up are a combined 1-10 (despite hitting 2nd and 3rd in the order).

Not at all what people are saying. He's already in scoring position, don't get thrown out late in the game when the middle of the order is coming up.

I'm using the eyeball and feeling stat... It sure seems like he makes stupid mistakes when we can least afford it.

Yeah I see that now, still doesn't change my opinion.

well boys (surhoff5, turborickey, and MrTPlush), it's a good thing that this is a developmental season and really doesn't mean anything. Villar is having an outstanding season. He's surpassed everyone's expectations. I'm not going to nitpick over a few miscues. Let's hope he learns from them.
