Transaction watchers peeking at a somewhat bloated Sky Sox roster, take note of this from Adam McClavy --

Left-hander Sam Freeman has reported to Colorado Springs, but he will throw a handful of side sessions before joining the team's active roster. He has not pitched in a game since April 28, before the Brewers designated him for assignment.

No excuses for Taylor Jungmann tonight, pitching below sea-level in New Orleans...

The T-Rats are under a delay, it's fairly cold and was raining in the late afternoon but is clearing to the west.

Final, Game One: Brevard County 7, Dunedin 5

Houle just misses cycle in game one at Dunedin

Donald Rieber, Jr., Manatees Examiner

Brevard County Game One Box Score

Catcher Dustin Houle bumps his batting average to .247, even if one of his four hits may have been a gift of sorts, as you read; the two Dustin's (Houle & 1B Demuth) combined for seven hits, four for extra bases, in the seven-inning contest; only four of SS Angel Ortega's 42 hits have gone for extra bases and his walk rate is low, but enough balls have found holes that the batting average is still shiny - Ortega also stole his 4th base in as many attempts on the season tonight...

Brevard County Game One Game Log

RHP Bubba Derby will take the win despite the tough line, but focus on his impressive 41-to-9 K-to-BB ratio in 32.2 innings...

Final, Game Two: Dunedin 6, Brevard County 2

Dunedin gains split of doubleheader with Manatees

Donald Rieber, Jr., Manatees Examiner

Brevard County Game Two Box Score

Manatees are 8-7 since the horrific 3-17 start; Donald's report provides the details of a brutal inning for RH reliever Junior Rincon, the big-armed 24-year-old who skipped over Wisconsin this spring. Rincon was prone to the occasional blow-up outing during his two-year stay in Helena as well.

The respective leadoff men were Johnny Davis and Jonathan Davis, and Blue Jay 2012 1st round OF D.J. Davis (Dylan) was also in the lineup.

Brevard County Game Two Game Log

Here's a thought -- would it be so awful to swap 26-year-old Johnny Davis for still-so-young 22-year-old Tyrone Taylor at Biloxi? More about trying to get Taylor right against high-A pitchers.

Final: Colorado Springs 10, New Orleans 3

Sky Sox Score Early And Often To Win 10-3

Broxton hits two homers as Sky Sox win three of four in New Orleans

By Aaron Cheris / Colorado Springs Sky Sox

Colorado Springs Box Score

It's video game numbers for Keon Broxton in the 23 Sky Sox games since his demotion, my goodness! Nate Orf with an .853 OPS in his 12 AAA games, so psyched the undrafted Baylor player is eventually going to be a big leaguer -- will be interesting what moves get made upon Yadiel Rivera's arrival to allow Orf to get his at-bats (Will Middlebrooks departure?). Will actually doubled, singled, and walked here.

Colorado Springs Game Log

Taylor Jungmann threw 94 pitches in five innings, and only 45 were strikes. Yay, he won! Sigh...

Betancourt extends Shuckers winning streak with walk-off

The Shuckers complete their homestand with another comeback win

Javier Betancourt delivered Biloxi's walk-off double in a 6-5 victory over Jacksonville (Michael Krebs)

Biloxi Boxscore

Wei-Chung Wang's strike outs per 9 continues to drop, which isn't a good sign as the season progresses, since it likely means that teams are figuring out that if you make him throw strikes he's not able to consistently locate his off speed in the zone.

Brett Phillips (2-3,HR,2B,BB) is only hitting .265 as I type this (Biloxi is batting in the 9th), but I'm not disappointed yet, he's doing enough good that I'm still excited. It would be nice if we had any top prospects hitting enough to be .300+, but most of our prospects are reasonably young for their leagues. They are playing at the correct level of competition, but they aren't as experienced and will need to make adjustments more quickly than their peers which is always interesting to watch from afar. Super prospects hit every where they go, like Braun and Trout in the minors, everyone else is going to have some ups and downs.

As I finish typing Biloxi completes an awesome come from behind victory, man this team is fun.

Kernels crush Wisconsin 13-2

Murray goes 5-for-5 with two homers and 5RBI to pace Cedar Rapids

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

Trent Clark went 1-for-3 with a double, two walks, and two runs scored for the Timber Rattlers on Friday night. (Wisconsin Timber Rattlers/Ann Mollica)

Wisconsin Boxscore

Well this game was a stinker, I actually quit watching in the 4th, though I did let the DVR finish. I do have a ton of observations from the televised games earlier this week that I didn't share because I was just wiped out. I'll share the pitching observations the next time those pitchers come around.

Jake Gatewood peaked .283 earlier this week after the first game of the double header but is starting to slide back, he's hitless in his last 12 ABs (Cedar Rapids is currently batting in the 8th) which would be 3 straight games if he doesn't collect a hit in the 8th or 9th.

Super utility player Luis Aviles is having a nice game and is currently the only Rattler with a multi hit game.

The T-Rats opened the defensive flood gates tonight with 5(!) errors; 2 each from Isan Diaz and Gatewood, 1 from Trent Clark, and to top it off Max McDowell had his 4th PB, which is about the only negative thus far in McDowell's 2016 campaign.

New Orleans Advocate:

Outfielder Keon Broxton led off the game with a home run to center field and hit a two-run shot to left in the fourth, both off Jarred Cosart, helping power Colorado Springs on Friday at Zephyr Field.

“He has all the tools, and he’s working very hard on mental concentration, that mental focus so you eliminate mistakes,” Colorado Springs manager Rick Sweet said. “He does everything well. Now, it’s just getting himself under control with all that athleticism he has.”

Trent Clark has 4 doubles and 9 walks in 5 games. Me likey.
