MLB.TV Premium blackouts

A Swing and A Drive

Does anyone know which other MLB teams besides the Brewers are "blacked out" on the MLB.TV Premium subscription? Before I join I'd like to know if other teams are consider part of the Milwaukee TV market, like the Cubs and White Sox for example.

A friend of mine lives in Vegas and says that all the California teams games are blacked out because they are considered part of the Vegas TV market.

Thanks

Most of Wisconsin is going to be fine.

You can try entering your zip on this page, but I can tell you from personal experience that it isn't entirely accurate.

It'll tell you that the Cubs and White Sox are blacked out in southern Milwaukee County (Franklin, Oak Creek, South Milwaukee, Greendale, and Cudahy), but over several years in two locations I've never seen that happen with either Extra Innings or MLB.TV. If there ever was a blackout, my dad certainly would have whined about it.

At some point in southeastern WI, I'd assume that the Cubs and Sox will be blacked out. I'd guess Kenosha County for sure and possibly Racine County. It'd be interesting to hear from anyone who might be in those locations.

In places like Nevada and Iowa, lots of teams will be blacked out. Six teams (the Brewers, Twins, Cubs, White Sox, Royals, and Cardinals) claim the entire state of Iowa as home territory.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Just to add, it appears that the blackout checker is reporting that the Cubs and Sox will be blacked out in all zip codes beginning with 531. That includes Elm Grove, which is surrounded on three sides by Brookfield (which has 530 zip codes and is fine) and on one side by Wauwatosa (which has 532 zip codes and is fine).

As I said, I've never experienced an issue with those two teams. Maybe there's an issue with how the checker is dealing with 531 zips.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
