Sure would be nice to be a thorn in the Cubs side this season. Win a bunch of games against them in a lost season (record wise) and the season seems to have more purpose.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Pitt would hopefully be the beneficiary of knocking the Cubs down a peg. I don't like how high the Cubs are flying. Fans are too excited for me. I like them better when they blow it.

Small sample size but Braun is batting .125 off Hendricks, .385 off Lester, and .400 off Arrieta

If we don't win this game we probably get swept; so go Jimmy.

Over / under on runs hits against Arrieta tomorrow is set at 1. 1.5 if the wind is blowing out.

Fixed that for you. Hope I'm wrong.

Ha! Sounds about right.

Scooter hurt in batting practice? Rivera getting the start tonight now.

I haven't heard anything about Scooter. On the Cubs' side, Miguel Montero was scratched too. In his case, it was due to the cold.

I'll update the starting lineups in the lead.

EDIT: The lineups have been updated to reflect the late scratches.

Rivera is now up for worst at bat of the year. My god man take the bat off your shoulders.

Yeah, that was probably the worst at-bat I have seen in a long time. Pitch two and three looked like pretty good pitches to hit, not sure if he was guessing change-up the entire at-bat or what.
