Shuckers win third straight to take series from M-Braves

Biloxi's Javi Salas and Drew Gagnon combine for fourth shutout of 2016

Biloxi Shuckers

Drew Gagnon hasn't allowed a run in 13.1 innings pitched this season. He earned his first save since 2011 Monday (Cristina Coca)

Biloxi Boxscore

This is the one the prospect laden team that hasn't disappointed this or last season in the W/L columns... just fun to follow. After using 5 pitchers yesterday the Shuckers needed a pitching performance like this to give the pen a day off. I was high on Drew Gagnon when he was with WI, I thought his ceiling was that of a #3, but he's fallen on rough times since 2013. His career could use a boost and so far this year his ERA is a sparkling 0.0 ERA, good for him. Javier Salas is an interesting guy but he's also never been a big strike out guy, he's another guy to watch and see if his SOs will trend up over the long term.

In case you missed it in the game story Nate Orf (2-3,BB) had the only multi hit game for Biloxi tonight. Prospect wise Tyrone Taylor is sporting a .263 AVE, Brett Phillips .276, Jacob Nottingham .137, and Chris McFarland .239.

Biloxi Recap

Manger Mike Guerrero handles substitutions like a NL MLB club would, not something you always see in the minors, there are usually a couple of situational moves every night in the game log.

Final: Omaha 9, Colorado Springs 4

Homers Doom Sky Sox In 9-4 Loss

Broxton and Wilkins homer for Sky Sox, but Storm Chasers rally to win

By Aaron Cheris / Colorado Springs Sky Sox

Colorado Springs Box Score

Remember the Andy Wilkins spring training home run barrage? First one this regular season; Michael Reed, again in CF and batting 3rd, doubled and walked -- on base in 27 straight, keep it up, dude; hello, Jake Elmore, eight hits in last four games; Jim Miller scored upon in five of six outings, despite his many co-starring roles in Tim Dillard's twitter dubsmashes.

Colorado Springs Game Log

Darn, because Junior Guerra would be the logical call-up candidate should they send Taylor Jungmann down to get right, it's right there for him, so this outing was a bit of a bummer...

Mentioned yesterday how bad Broxton has been playing OF...Apparently Omaha had a promo tonight regarding every misplay by Broxton...pretty messed up in my opinion. At least he homered.

Keon had only one hit in the loss, but at least it was a home run.

Minor-league club cancels promotion insulting player's defense

Oh, and no errors, either...

So, I'm assuming his mistakes have happened in LF and CF both? It might be understandable for a some short term mistakes when moving from CF to LF (ball looks different coming off the bat), but I would expect a talented defender not to be tripped up by that.

Seems contrary to the defense reports we read after the trade. He was supposed to be a talented defender (not quite Carlos Gomez, but still good) in CF.

And pitcher Javier Salas went 1 for 2 and is hitting .200.
