There is something to it. If you can get to the pen early in series you can set yourself up later in series for going after a tired pen.

Why don't they already know this? They already have scouting reports on most of these players. They weren't born yesterday.

The sad part is they could have had 2 very good ones with very little effort. Jhoulys Chacin and Mat Latos were begging for jobs this winter.
