Trent Clark has been activated for the T-rats. Alan Sharkey placed on DL.

RHP Drew Gagnon, who has been on the Sky Sox DL since the 4th of July, has been activated for the Monday matinee Colorado Springs game.

RHP Jorge Lopez down to Biloxi, OF Keon Broxton to Milwaukee, and catcher Parker Berberet up from Biloxi in other moves involving the Sky Sox, along with the Garrett Cooper tweet listed a couple of posts above as he nets his well-earned bump from AA.

Info courtesy of the excellent Sky Sox blog -- note Cooper's move won't be official until activated at Colorado Springs.

I wonder if Isan Diaz will get a bump before the season is over? Gonna miss Ghelfi's bat in that T-Rats line-up for sure.

RHP Tim Dillard activated from the 7-day DL at Colorado Springs, backfilling RHP Michael Blazek's return to Milwaukee (due to RHP Jacob Barnes' elbow soreness).

The Sky Sox are at an uneven 14-11 pitcher-position player split at this time.

Biloxi IF Javier Betancourt activated after a ten-day DL stint, OF Omar Garcia goes on the DL to make room.

If this were April or May, would Garcia have gone on the Helena "paper roster", who knows as MiLB allows for roster flexibility, which seems reasonable.

With Manny Pina on catcher standby duty in Milwaukee (will he fly to San Diego with the Brewers tonight?), catcher roulette in the Brewers' system as Rene Garcia starts Sunday afternoon for the Sky Sox (up from Biloxi to join Parker Berberet as active Colorado Springs catchers), and Dustin Houle goes to AA for the very first time, up from Brevard, to join Jacob Nottingham in Biloxi.

In order to make room for Garcia at AAA, the Brewers are making use of the very rarely utilized "reserve list" for Pina. The Sky Sox remain at an odd 14 pitchers / 11 position player split.

That leaves the position-flexible duo of Fidel Pena and the recently-promoted Mitch Ghelfi to catch in Brevard County. And talk about a lopsided roster, the Manatees are now one player short at 24, and have only ten position players at this time while carrying a bloated 14-man staff in a pitcher-friendly environment. Not that we would do any better, but it must be a heck of a whiteboard of puzzle pieces Tom Flanagan and his staff maintain.

Just tweeted --

No shortage of 40-man roster relievers for #Brewers at AAA: Scahill, Cravy, Goforth, Magnifico; 2 may be on their way to SD from the Springs

Also, we've been telling you the Sky Sox had 14 pitchers anyway, so we'll see things how shake out up and down the chain in response.

RHP David Goforth called up, catcher Manny Pina added to the 25-man and 40-man rosters, and a third move for another reliever, to be completed Tuesday for the big league 25-man roster.

Congratulations to 20-year-old switch-hitting 2014 14th round infielder and Puerto Rico native Jonathan Oquendo on his call-up to full-season ball.

RHP Javier Salas has been activated from the Biloxi DL (he had been rehabbing in Maryvale), and looks to turn around his season with a transfer to Brevard County. He's starting Game One of their doubleheader Wednesday night.

His first innings, partly because of a Wendell Rijo error, did not go well with a 5-spot (three earned) --

Daytona Bottom of the 1st

Blake Trahan singles on a line drive to right fielder Elvis Rubio.

Shed Long homers (2) on a fly ball to left field. Blake Trahan scores.

Angelo Gumbs grounds out, third baseman George Iskenderian to first baseman Jose Cuas.

Gavin LaValley pops out to second baseman Blake Allemand.

Reydel Medina doubles (3) on a fly ball to left fielder Malik Collymore.

Brian O'Grady walks.

Chad Tromp singles on a ground ball to left fielder Malik Collymore. Reydel Medina scores. Brian O'Grady to 3rd on the throw.

Avain Rachal hit by pitch. Chad Tromp to 2nd.

Garrett Boulware reaches on a throwing error by shortstop Wendell Rijo. Brian O'Grady scores. Chad Tromp scores. Avain Rachal to 3rd.

Blake Trahan grounds out, third baseman George Iskenderian to first baseman Jose Cuas.

Chris just said that David Denson was promoted to BC in order to activate Trent Clark.

RHP Ben Rowen has been claimed off waivers from Toronto and assigned to Triple-A @skysox.

wow- lots of minor league success- http://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.cgi?id=rowen-001ben looks like a guy who just never got an extended chance to show what he could do at the MLB level. hopefully we can give him that opportunity.
