Gennett has a .500 OBP vs. LHP. And yes, in the positive post thread 12 PA's is a huge sample!

Not trying to be negative, but it should be pointed out MadBum and Locke were both awful when they faced Gennett and were handing out walks like candy on Halloween.

Regardless for Gennett it is pretty impressive so far considering how bad he has been historically vs. LHP.

Also, teams are used to a Brewers team that swings at fastballs eyebrow high, and sliders in the dirt a foot outside. Once advance scouting catches up, we'll probably see walk rate go down, but hopefully batting avg goes up.

Other positive news, safe to say Braun hasn't lost power due to not having peds, bad thumb, back, or anything else.

File this under take it how you want, but from 2013-2015 April has been Braun's highest Slugging month. If Braun keeps this up, I would think the trend continues

Way to ruin the good vibes captain bringdown.

In reality, they were awful because Gennett had instilled FEAR into their heads.

If this season plays out with Gennett establishing the ability to be consistently acceptable vs LHP, no 2b platoon necessary, that is another potentially big gain for our club's future. Taking into consideration roster and lineup flexibilities, not to mention Scooter's potential trade value, should DS go that route, I am really hoping that he's figured it out and the small sample grows into a good large sample. We shall see...

People, it's not hard. You can be negative, or passive aggressive negative, in pretty much any thread on here. Just leave this one alone if you can't see glass is half full or at least have fun pretending you do.

edit: for those wondering, I deleted a few posts.

The Milwaukee Brewers are 2nd in the NL in BB%.

The MILWAUKEE BREWERS!

By Comparison, from 2012 until 2015, they finished 11th, Last, 10th and 11th.

Very cool! Hopefully if we are losing a lot of games this year, this approach isn't abandoned. This approach will pay dividends throughout an entire season.

Peralta 2 runs in 5 IP, in line for the win if the Brewers hold on. Still had a lot of runners on, but I'll take the "baby steps" in the right direction. Him turning things around would be a huge positive for the Brewers.

Key stat for Peralta, 9 ground ball outs.

3-5 road trip against two very good teams and a comparible team.

This is the 3rd game (Giants, Cards were the other two) where they've given up runs to tie and then scored late to win. We also had at least one game against the Pirates where we tacked on late runs to put the game away. In the past, we would have lost the game today, it's anecdotal but we always seemed to score early and then we were done for the game.

Through 14 games, one of the most enjoyable seasons in recent memory. No expectations have lead to me enjoying the game and watching the kids develop (Scooter against LHP, Domingo taking walks, Nelson taking the next step, Rivera looking like a great utility IF). Sure some will miss (Broxton and Flores in CF, Peralta & Davies struggling) but this is expected and not putting a damper on my enjoyment of baseball. Gone are the let's strive for .500 Brewers and, hopefully soon, the constantly replenishing farm system Brewers will arrive.

Which is what a good Peralta does. It allows him to get out of all the jams he puts himself in.

Walsh first, please. I really want to see Walsh's bat for an extended look.

I'm hoping for winning 4 of 5. 10-9 heading into Wrigley next week!

A win tomorrow and we're back at .500 heading into a home weekend series with the Phillies.
