Power Tools

I'll be in the market for some power tools this spring. I'm not a carpenter by any means but I do a lot of small projects around the house. What I need and would use the most is a miter saw. After doing some research I think I've found the one I want but it's more than I really want to pay. Is there a huge difference between name brand power tools and cheapo generic? I would assume you get what you pay for.

I was bought a Milwaukee power drill by my father in law. He said I'll never have to ever buy another in my life. Love it so far as I bought a house and have had to use it quite a bit.

There is a rather large difference. You buy high end, you're almost always good for life (and most will come with a lifetime guarantee as well).

I've had good luck with Black & Decker and Milwaukee brand stuff. Not so much with Skil. I'm not a handyman by any means, though.

Dewalt...anytime I buy something else that's "cheap" or a "quick fix" I end up regretting it.

 

Don't buy cheap, get what you want when you're looking at all the tools on the shelf.
