Now will Stearns look to find that future 3rd baseman

Really, a "3rd baseman of future" is not important right now. Manny Machado was the SS of the future for the O's....where does he play now? Many SS become 2B's of the future as well. 3B's & OF's of future can sometimes come 1B of the future. Saying we have no 1st base of the future could be completely wrong if next year Brewers move Coulter to 1B after he has a monster AA season.

If we need a high level "3B of the future" right now, well hopefully that is Cecchini is that guy or over the next season or two, Stearns brings one in through trade. I think very well that Gatewood or Lara could be 3b's of the future. Gatewood could even move to 1st base with his power stroke and fielding ability in the future as his body matures.

We spend too much time concerning ourselves with targeting positions to fill. Ultimately, a good GM is targeting versatile guys with high ceilings to come in and help, regardless of position. Bring in as much talent as possible and let the positions sort themselves out. Keeping loading up on 18-20 year old high ceiling guys and see where they work out in the end.

Proud member since 2003 (geez ha I was 14 then)

FORMERLY BrewCrewWS2008 and YoungGeezy don't even remember other names used

Agree to most of it but you also can't completely flood a position with the same level/aged prospects because you only have so many positions to play them at. They need their at bats to develop, but yes, good points.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
