Too soon (but funny)???? This surprised me when I heard the news. I didn't know he was sick prior to yesterday. I know he came across as a pretty big jerk, but all that said, he was a big part of an iconic band. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but they made great music for sure.

I know that his solo stuff isn't critically acclaimed, but I liked a lot of it. I saw a great dual bill with Frey and Joe Walsh on one of the free stages at Summerfest back in 93, and went to the Hell Freezes Over concert the next year at Alpine. Sad to know that the Eagles are no more.
